Hey, I'm new. Completely new to this sport, and mostly preoccupy myself with other types of firearms.

I have been browsing this forum for a good portion of the day, and have decided that I defiantly don't want to try building an airgun or cannon untill I know what I'm doing. The thing is, that most of the information on this site seems geared towards those who already have a pretty good idea of what they are doing.

Is there currently a "noob" section I missed for beginners like me to get started, or is it just an "ask as you need it" situation. I think a beginners section could save people some injuries.

Thank you for your time, and if there is already a section i missed, then I apologize in advance for my post.

Nope no newbie section. There are search feature though and stickies.
As long as you are not asking for plans etc, most people are happy to help.
To start i would recommend a simple combustion cannon for your first build.
It's very hard to blow yourself up with one made from PVC. (Don't use in cold weather).
Have a search around then if you have any questions feel free to ask.

Welcome to Spudfiles- The greatest website on the planet :D

im not trying to sound rude or anything, but most of the people on here that know there stuff about potato cannons or various other cannons have gotten their knowledge via reading.

like nova said you should read a couple of the stickies in different sections depending on what type of guns you want to build.

Using the search feature aswell. the quick search isnt very helpful, so i would advise to use the advanced search option.

Hope your first gun goes well when you make it, and enjoy your time at spudfiles :)

Told you guys we should have a noob section, which is unmoderated so you can ask all the questions you want.

The answer you are lookig for is, we have no 'noob' section, so i'm afraid you are going to have to read the wiki and do some searching.

Best thing to do is understand the concepts, then go to the showcase section and look at those concepts in actions, e.g piston valves, propane meters etc

Again, thank you.

I will spend a while looking through everything and soaking up what I can.

It's all in the Image, if there are some things that still aren't clear there's a wonderful search feature on the forum and if that doesn't answer all your questions we'll be more than happy to help :)

It's good that you want to learn what you are doing first, in this hobby, or sport as you put it, it's best you know what you are doing first. Some people just go out there and build what ever they can from anything really.

Thanks for asking as well, better then making a 100 topics asking questions and us yelling at you
