how do i post "previews"?

how do i post previews? it probaly obvious but obvious things are harder to find for me

The box that says "thumbnail". It takes you to an uploader that converts the file to the proper size, and then provides a URL to copy into the thumbnail box.
It took me about 3 months to figure that out for some reason...
