Why do we even have a profile page when very few ever bother to fill it out......It is very anouying to those of us who are curious. We go to a profile and find it empty; why :?:

People spend hours here and never fill in their profile.....it only takes a few seconds.

And I think there needs to be an age colum in the profile as well..maybe just a group break down........1-18, 19-28, 30-45, 46 nad over

I realize that there will be those who don't put in their actual age but I think most of us would....

Mines filled out, not sure who would read it though. Though I would like the 'location' thing next to our posts, below our avatar, makes it easier when replying to some topics.

Mine is filled out as well. I think profiles reflects a persons personality. A basic profile should be mandatory.

Mine is also filled out, no reason for it not to be..

I agree with the location idea, it is on many other forums that I belong to.

To be entirely frank, is it really worth complaining about?

Usually the only thing on the profile that is much use is location, and a lot of people don't want to be that open about where they live.
It's also pretty rare for the interests and occupation columns to be of much use, and that's all there is on the page... so...

An age column wouldn't go amiss, but then I think we'd judge the value of a person's posts by their age, which isn't a good way of going about things.

It sounds like you're accusing people of having something to hide. Unsurprisingly, some people do. Not everyone has the blessing of being in a country where spudguns are 100% legal, no questions asked.

A simple 'America' or 'Australia' or 'UK' etc, wouldn't be so bad. It's when replying to topics they have made and you need to know what supplies they will have access to and for what cost.

There's less need of it on here than on some because we have all those little buttons under our signatures which do almost all the same functions. Sometimes I've looked up people's posts if they've refered to stuff they've built in the past.

I agree with this.

I dunno, I like the anonymity of the internet. Apart from knowing which country I'm from, I really don't have any other information I'd like seen. This is the reason I've avoided Myspace and Facebook.

As I understand it spud guns are legal in the U.S. untill you use them for a distructional purpose. And they can only shoot spuds.

And some secrets are fine and that is why we dont have an extensive profile like my (waste of) space and (fugly) facebook.....
