Okay, I was looking to do something constructive this morning, instead of just idly browsing Google and the S.T. archives, I figured why not get some different perspectives in here?

Basically, this should be a Sunday event (of course, being an international forum, anywhere around los domingos is fine too) where people dig their favorite cannons out of the archive or other bowels of the internet.

Guidelines (can't say rules since I'm not a mod or anything)
  • 1.) Sources: Spudtech Archive, OLD Spudtech archive (on Network 54), Spudfiles, Google, etc.
2.) Cannons still have to follow forum rules.
3.) Cannon must still have a working picture or video in thread.
4.) If the poster is still active (don't post if you're not sure), you can request pictures or videos if their older pictures or videos have died.
Have fun!

For the first post, I submit:

Why not, I'll get involved.

I always liked the Oxymortar, which I imagine most of the newer members may not have seen:

Does that thing kinda look like a big cat to you?

I remember that one. That was a while ago, when I was a Sophomore...

Well everyone from the SpudTech days undoubtably remembers BigBang. In my opinion probably the best potato cannon builder. Right up there with DR, Mr. Plow, Burnt Latke, and Joel. Anyways here is a couple of BigBang's cannons from the archive...

I'm sure there is more, but thats all a quick search turned up.

I know this has been posted on Spudfiles (when DR posted here for like a month or so), but I always liked this cannon. It was just so massive. Plus, I sorta liked how the whole thing laid flat, rather that having the barrel raised. Less likely to break, easier to stabilize, and less restrictions in the flow.

Whoa! DR actually has images out there that still work!

On a related note, what the hell is he always hiding with shooped in pictures or blurs and whatnot? It can't be a pack of cigarettes like he liked to do towards the end there, because these are just too big...

Well, what the hell happened to this thread? I didn't expect it to go ON and ON and ON but I expected a few more cannons than this...

So, without further ado, here are a couple more blasts from the past...

SpudMonster destroying luckythirteen13's piston valve :P

The valve on this cannon is rather unique. Couldn't find the original version at first but a little internet detective skills resulted in this.

userjjb's excellent first submission

Excellent first cannon(s) submission by userjjb. Definitely the flagship of the phrase "lurk moar".

Archive is a bit wonky. Copy/paste image urls into a new tab to view.

What a great idea :)

I'll contribute, anything by some Bulgarian adolescent going by the username "Rambo".

He seems to have stopped posting before I joined spudfiles, but most of his ideas seem innovative bordering on the eccentric with a budget of $0.00, fascinating stuff.

I remember him, he really was quite ingenious.

Figured I'd renew this thread to add the only "internal sprinkler pilot" coaxial I've ever seen.
