Perhaps a new forum area should be created. PCguy could create a forum just for plans. People could submit their plans, if they so choose. I think, however, that each set of plans would have to be reviewed by a mod before it is made viewable by the public, in order to assure that the plans aren't a complete piece of crap.

Thats practically half of the 'how-to's right there, but I agree a section just for plans that have been approved may help. I would be more then happy to grab already posted plans from the website and organise them if this goes ahead.

What we need are some "stickied" plans on how to make a simple pneumatic, and a simple combustion, and a "stickied" section that shows exactally how piston valves and diaphram valves function, in a very simple manner (e.i. basic physics lesson). We also need some little chart on the different types of pvc fittings and what they are called, which might help those new to pvc and pipe fittings.

Yea, we do have the how-to's, but i meant like, graphical blueprints type plans. That would be pretty good I think. Maybe we should start a poll and see how many people agree with the idea?MrCrowley wrote:Thats practically half of the 'how-to's right there, but I agree a section just for plans that have been approved may help. No offence but UKSGC is more of a tight-knit community and doesn't get as much traffic as spudfiles. When I posted on UKSGC there were few regular members, maybe 10 - 15 that posted frequently then a bunch of people who posted every now and then then buggered off.

We should bug PCGuy about this.

Im all for a plans section. I have a heap that I wont ever be able to build and I would love a plans section to post them in. The stickies would be good on valves and basic designs. Cmon PCGUY lets get a plans section so idiots dont have to spam all the boards for plans.

I concur. Having a plans section will (theoretically) reduce the posts for plans, as well as give some people to promote their cannons by having simple diagrams of their cannons.

Yeah, it will be good and all, but the only problem is that then the guys are going to be building something they dont understand, which is potentially dangerous.
But I still vote for a plans section! ....please?

Eh, or we could just stop feeding them the "plans" misinformation.
I think the OP has the most elegant solution, although I am not certain it would work.
