I should try that for a sniper. That would be cool. But might as well have a breech if its not a semi. If any of you guys gets a semi then put a pump on it, that would be cool.

wow. Ive been thinking for ages how a pump would work. Thats an amazing concept!

But the problems i couldnt find answers to were:

1. how to attach the ammo slide to the pump without boring a hole though the barrel.

2. how to stop spherical (ie rolling) projectiles from entering the the barrel prematurely

got any ideas?

[1a] By "ammo slide", what do you mean? The pipe above barrel or magzine?
[1b] Im pretty sure your talking about the tube parrell with barrel. In that case you could fasten any way possible. EX: Duct tape, Zip Ties, Wood support with barrel ODs drilled in a accordance to the launcher, etc.

[2a] Well just think of it this way how do you stop "something" from doing "something? Reistance or eliminate the force orginally setting the item in motion (Im sure theres other ways). Again there would be several dif ways to approach the problem. You can add reistance on the inside of the barrel via tape, slight decrease in barrel ID, etc. I think you get what I mean.
[2b] Also if your planning on using spherical ammo there is better designs out there. One of which you will see on my soon-to-be Pump-Action Golf Ball Pnuematic.

Couldn't the barrel be damaged when the pipe carrying the projectile slams into it? Or would the casing not have suffient speed to damage it?

To stop a round object from going down the barrel just stick some tape for friction in there or put a very thin O-Ring or some kind of bump.

I found out how to make it more compact if you want to see it. It is at the link below.

You just kicked a 4 month old topic, with a double post nonetheless. They never gave any dimensions, obviously it can be made smaller. Besides, was that even worth posting? "I'm gonna find out how to..." Well go ahead, you don't need to tell us.
