I am going to make a RC stun gun igniton for my cannon, but I need help with how you hook up the RC to the stun gun. Does anyone have experience on this and know what kind of RC stuff I need to get to do it.

I know I need a Remote control, and a reciever but what other stuff to activate the stun gun?

you could just hook up a servo to push the switch of the stun gun

hmm you could just get a servo to switch on a button, momentary switch, etc. depending on how you do it, you could be looking at alot for a very nice one. I mean nice but a 9c or 9z futaba transmitter, a reciever, servo, etc, or you could just go take apart a cheap rc car, lodge the board in a project box, ad hook up the motor to a piece of copper wire or something else that when you push forward on your cheapy two stick controller, the motor will turn, which will cause the attached copper piece or whatever you use to complete your stungun circuit. There are lots of ways to do this. or you could get really fancy and use a cell phone. like this:

all in all its up to you what kind you wanna build. if your allready an rc hobbyist you have a bunch of this stuff im sure. unless it's possibly cars, I know way more about helicopters.

and ps I know that music on the vid is corny but the info is priceless.

actually if you didnt mind a wire you could just do it with a model rocket ignition system, considering thats about the same range as a cheapy rc toy.

well it would be far easier to power it from the motor output of a cheap r/c car. jam the the stungun's switch in the on position and take the leads from an r/c cars motor and run them to the 9v battery clip. that way when you pushed forward on the controller it would apply power to the stun gun and activate because the switch is stuck on. however this would only work if the r/c car had ~9v going to the motor. the majority of mid level r/c cars from radio shack run off 9.6v batterys, perfect for this application. there are other cheaper methods if you do not own one of these cars however i have about 3 which i haven't played with in a while (out grew them) and i though this would be the perfect fate for them. just throwing it out there....

You could also pick up a really cheap car remote. I've seen em around for $12.

Take a look at Singularity's Wiki page on remotely fired pneumatics. http://www.spudfiles.com/spud_wiki/inde ... ated_valve

Scroll down to the wiring section. Replace the solenoid (that operates the gun's valve) with the two wires from the stungun's fire switch. Now the relay that the RC setup controls will control your stungun.

There are a lot of other sources for cheap RC controllers; cordless phones, aftermarket car fobs etc. Search for Singularity's recent post for other ways to do it.

The first thing to do is buy, or otherwise "acquire", the RC system. It doesn't have to be a real "RC" from remote controlled car or plane, any old RC system will work. Once you have the RC system post what you've got and I'm sure folks can help out with solutions that'll work with the particular parts you have.

EDIT: Another thing, the "RC" system does not need any kind of actuators or servos. It just needs to control an electircal signal.
