You already posted the same thing. People have posted this before and people always say the same thing. You could damage the fitting in the process of that and then it could fail when you use it again. So I wouldn't recommend doing that.

Why? would you even do that you may bore out too much and still it's just better to buy a new one.

They make a tool you put in a drill and it drills out the fitting like what you're doing. I'm sure someone on here has seen or used one of them before, they're rather slick.
