hey man, i bought that female reg from palmer and its amazing. i too am in the process of making a paintball grenade launcher, but a shotgun/artillery version ( multi-paintball sabot
as for the metal/pvc chamber issue, i chose to go w/ pvc but im goin to wrap it with denim and duck tape, ( first, to prevent chamber damage, and second, to contain the pvc shrapnal is it did explode.
i got the safety air compressor pop off coming shortly( you can get em set to pop at 125 psi. im also going to have a guage and dump valve for an emergesy,
im still looking for a valve

I guess I'll answer your questions too (although, I believe they have been answered already, but what the hell).
Since you're building it for paintball, go with a paintball regulator. As many have mentioned, Palmer's makes the best one (imo) for CO2. They come in many different configurations and...well, see for yourself.
I've used JB Weld (it's liquid duct tape ) but any epoxy should work. If the hole is drilled straight enough, you may not even need any epoxy.
As one mentioned, check the web, or a local hardware store. But first, check your field's rules about shooting these things from a launcher. Some fields do not allow such a thing.

I don't know why I'm helping you, because all you've ever done is be a PITA to me, but here goes.
Like everyone's said, a Palmer reg is the way to go.
Plugging a solenoid hole is extremely easy; even hot glue will work.
Trial and error with paint grenades. It's almost impossible to tell how far they'll go by guessing. Fill test grenades with water to save paint.
Make grenades by getting some 1/4" ID latex rubber tubing. Every hardware store I've been to has it. Get some 5/16" ball bearings, washable orange paint, strong zip ties, and vegetable oil as well. If they have them, get a 60 cc plastic syringe. If the hardware store doesn't have them, almost any plastics store will.
Mix 1 cup of paint with 3 cups of water and 1/2 cup vegetable oil. Cut a 7" length of tubing, fold the end, and zip tie it off. Fill the syringe with the paint, which should be very watery and slightly slippery. Fill up the tube with paint until there's only about 1 1/2" left. Use pliers or small tubing clamps, and clamp the tube where the paint ends. Slide out the syringe, and slide in a ball bearing about 1/2" away from the paint. Hold the ball bearing in place for a minute or so to make sure it won't slide out. Then pop the grenade in a sabot and it's ready to shoot.

Many fields wont allow you to use PVC air chambers on your launcher at all ....I allow them at my field but you must have a safety pop off valve installed (90psi max) .....I am starting to see more players constructing launchers for use in my scenario games and unfortunately many of these players have no experience or knowledge of the dangers of PVC air chambers when not constructed or used properly.....I always direct them to this website for info , but I still see inferior launchers showing up at the field......I am going to have to start making stricter rules regarding launchers because a launcher chamber ruptured at a a game I attended last week......The launcher was purchased on Ebay and had a safety pop off installed but it was rated rated @ 150psi relief...There was a sticker on the launcher itself that read 150psi max....I couldnt believe it when I saw the sticker...This is way too high for a PVC air chamber , yet it was allowed to be used at this field ( not mine)......If you want to make a launcher that you can use at a major scenario event @ Skirmish or EMR then I would advise you to make an air chamber out of steel pipe or aluminum.....Also many fields dont allow launching of paintball grenades because they are too heavy a projectile and can knock someones mask off while in play.......Saboted paintballs , or 2" nerf rockets are the preffered ammo.
