i recently found a "Giant Eraser." It's about 3/4" thick and about 3X2 Inch wide. Could this be used for a piston rubber face?

You could, i guess. You probably want to use a softer rubber though, like neoprene.

the rubber bit in a syrindge should work nicely because it is soft

and i wouldnt mind any body donating 60 spudbux to me (hint hint)
