My crossbow project was the closest I ever made to a springer, and it used the basic materials I had when I was inexperienced with spudding, so you might find it helpful.

Thanks for the info/tips. 350 FPS sounds good to me since the main objective was to be independant from air sources/fuel.

Piano wire is cheap and any good model shop should stock it - if not, there are plenty of websites showing how to make improvised bows, I'm sure that a quick google search will give you ideas on what is best suited from the materials you have at hand.jon_89 wrote:What could I use instead of piano wire?
