tattoo idea, what you think?

To the original poster....

1) The second design looks better.

2) Do NOT get a tattoo because you think it looks cool. Get a tattoo because it means something to you.

3) Do NOT get a tattoo based on any existing artwork (ie, flash) unless it's like your family crest or something that has similar meaning. You think women are silly for being embarassed when they see another woman in the same dress? Imagine how stupid you'll feel when you see a guy with the same tat.... Unless the tat is a "membership" or something.

4) Do NOT get a tattoo to commemorate anything that's been in your life a reasonably short period of time. I know as a teenager, 5 years seems like a lot of time... It ain't.

5) DO get a tattoo that means something (I said that already, but I'll say it again!). People will ask you about your tat. 'Tis much more meaningful to answer with a story than it is to say, "Well, I thought it looked cool."

On the first page somebody mentioned new inks that are easy to remove with a single laser treatment. Yes, such inks exist. HOWEVER.... Good luck finding an inker who uses said inks. They're very new and old school tat guys are biased against them ("If you don't want it to last forever you shouldn't be getting inked in the first place!") so it's tough to find a shop that uses those inks.

And now we get to the reason I responded....
Ragnarok wrote:...when I broke my arm a few years back, I covered my cast with Elven runes drawn in Sharpie.

Although that wasn't exactly permanent - nor was it too obviously "nerdish", because most people wouldn't recognise the exact source.
Au contraire... It is EXTREMELY nerdish. Almost as nerdy as this....

Have you guys seen the pictures of the people that get tattoos by having someone cut out designs in their flesh? Then the scar tissue forms in that design.
Been there, done that.

Clearly you're not using the right equipment, might I recommend Swann-Morton No. 26 ;)
I thought you were both opposed to marriage, or have I got mixed up again?
We are, but been together for almost 3 years now, bought her a ring to make it official so now it seems we're "permanently engaged" hehe

Contrary to JDAX23's post, I am going to be quite frank. That cake looks like cardboard, and I probably would decline a serving. However, I can't help the fact that cake is delicious and so is pie.

And despite all the references, the cake is in fact not a lie: for it is readily available at supermarkets. Only when you are in the middle of a test (math, wills, for your life, etc.) and someone offers cake and grief counseling at the end can you truly question the existence of the cake.

Haha, sometimes. I try not to cook things like that. I stick to ribs and brisket, things of that nature. I can't say I could have made a much better cake.

Looks like used swabs from a hospital emergency room.
