The gospels aren't just there to ensure sound moral values of efficiency, they're also there to save your wallet from eternal damnation! You my boy need to brush up on your bible reading, Consult the book of armaments!MrCrowley wrote:Because I like pissing $13.27NZD up the wall everytime my holesaw comes a bit loose and makes a hole too big in the end cap.

@Nova, the expensive ones.
But I know how much i've spent per cannon roughly, and how much in spare parts i've spent.
I've got two dockets, worth about $130US from Home Depot, if you want to see the incredibly cheap prices for yourself. I also have a docket from a Plumbing Merchant here, showing you the incredibly expensive prices.

Wow Crowley, I think you've spent about the same as me. The advantage now is that I have so many pipes and fittings lying around that I can often build entire designs with very little or no extra spending. PVC cannons obviously don't have that benefit, as they aren't particularly modular.
@SB15: There's actually 35 cans sitting there, you can't see them all.

"In the world of spuds today" I finished making "Boogaloo" today, (thanks for the name Gippeto). I have still to test it and will give updates later.
Edit: Tests have shown that i under-engineered the endcap fasteners -FAIL- I am confident that this problem can be rectified by the use of 3 straps that go from endcap to endcap. This should stop the caps trying to exit the chamber like they tried to do at 70psi
On an un-related note, don't buy 8 Cylinders of Teflon tube to do a job when what you need is solid rod, bye bye $1500, anyone in Australia need teflon tube-190mm long 92mm OD 50mm ID? $150 a tube, thats less than cost!

I have quite the same problem.MrCrowley wrote:Bloody addictive and bloody expensive.
I tend to reckon on a budget of £200 to £300 ($400-$600 USD) on each of my larger projects these days, which is why I haven't really made anything big since I finished HEAL 10 months back.
I've been chipping away at smaller projects and have been slowly improving HEAL (less pilot volume, less dead volume, higher valve flow, scope, bipod... now trying to make a better air stripper to help accuracy) , but I haven't done anything significant.
I don't drink much in the way of carbonated drinks, but what I do drink is vast amounts of orange squash (not sure if there is an equivalent in other countries, but Wikipedia.) amongst other things - on some days, I can easily drink over a gallon of fluid (the equivalent of 14+ canned drinks).SpudBlaster15 wrote:I really should be fat, but my metabolism is almost as good as Rag's. Unfortunately, I don't believe I have his indestructibility.
And I have to drink that amount, otherwise I get colossal dehydration headaches - but I don't know where it goes, because my skin is always as dry as a bone (nor am I constantly in and out of the bog).
Now, while I'm responding to your post, you'll never find out if you're immortal unless you do some stupid stuff. Mind you, if you aren't immortal, then doing stupid stuff might cause problems...
If anyone still cares about it, I'm doing very well with the Range Calculator, managing to iron out a few more slight niggles. Anyway, I'm off to go write some more code - maybe then I'll be able to release the Beta.
Does that thing kinda look like a big cat to you?
