A good remedy for this is to wrap some towels around the fitting then clamp on the monkey wrench, it shouldn't damage your great paint jobI'm just worried about the paint work most of all, I had to paint the pilot setup black while it was on the cannon, otherwise my plumbing wrench would wreck the paint job.
