Hey guys, havent posted in a while, but I have been lurking, and decided to create this little guy the other day for little pickup airsoft games:
I figured if I was going to be tethered to an air compresser, might as well make a stationary turret. It has full up-down and left-right rotation.
With the little cardboard gun shield I added. It stops most of my friends crappy springers.
Me behind the gun:
It will be reciveing the same black paintjob as the gun, so it wont be so ugly
After about a minute of shooting:
nailed the can to a board so it wouldnt move around, and just opened up on the thing from 5 feet away

turrets are fine as long as you are in a fatal tunnel scenario.

On a different note, got any damage pics yet??
Anyways, guys if he runs this and around 40 psi it will be fine, just make sure you don't go above 60

lol sorry guys but the stupidity in all these replies are making me laugh....
he isnt firing steel bbs.... If he is using it for airsoft he can go up to 100-120 psi...
You are not going over 2 joules even at 120 psi so you are fine... The RC-P240 runs at 120 psi and I have been full on blasted by it and its perfectly safe...
at 100 psi you are getting a velocity of about 300-350 depending on how tight your barrel is. that is in the range of most AEG's. Now I realize that you get hit with a bunch of bbs at once but talking from expierence with 10+ bbmgs... it is not bad.

I spose I did assume he was using something heavier. I think this is a rare instance where I have been PWNED but the pwnage as for good...

I don't think that he needs 300-350 fps with his friends he said his friends most of their crappy springers weren't able to puncter the cardboard sheild he put on this gun.
You can tell how awesome a cannon is by the pressure used.

Looks like fun, you should fill the base with sand, or just throw a couple sandbags on the base.
You should make the shield out of a couple sheets of cardboard glued together so its more solid.

Yeah, sorry for not specifiing Its 6mm airsoft, not .177. And yeah, I usually keep it at around 70 PSI max to avoid an insane amount of pain for the people on the other end.
I just tore up a pop can, pics up later.

This is surely going to pwn your friends.
I'd recommend to extend the shield to the bottom, and maybe construct it (partly) out of a more sturdy material.

I tried to keep the shield reasonably small to be fair to the other guys. And the idea would be that the rest of the stand (and my body) would be behind a barricade of some sort, its more of a base defense weapon than somthing that stands out on its own.
And I just got back in from a short game about 10 minutes ago, I only got 2 kills with it because noone would come within 50 feet of the gun, although those 2 who did were quickly slaughtered. I had to use my AEG most of the time
