Alright, been brewing over a design in my head for a week now, rough sketches flood my notebooks, so I wanted to get everyone else's opinions before I splurged and went to Lowe's for all the things I'd need.

I'll apologize ahead of time for no sketches uploaded, my scanner hates me, and Google Sketch-up has been beating me over the head for a week now, so no 3-D models either.

Essentially it would be an over under, chamber-sealing piston -QEV, not sure which is best suited for my needs- small bore copper cannon. The elbows of the cannon would be two tee's, the lower tee connected directly to the chamber is the piston. The upper Tee is the same diameter of the chamber, leaning towards 3/4". Inside the T will be a wooden dowel designed to be very snug inside the Tee. The dowel will be bored out to about 1/2"-the outer diameter of the barrel. Another hole drilled to allow airflow from the chamber into the Tee. A small section of pipe, about four to six inches long will be free floating inside the dowel, this is the bolt. When the bolt is fully forward -or closed- a hole drilled through the pipe will line up with the hole in the dowel and the Tee. This is to allow the airflow from chamber to barrel.

With the bolt all the way back, a section will be cut away to allow loading from the rear of the Tee, pushing the bolt forward will slid the projectile through the Tee and into the main section of the barrel. Now provided the bolt assembly seals, all should work fine and dandy as a normal chamber-sealing over-under.

Comments, critiques?

Rough Sketch-Apologies for the greyish area.

You can download the 3D CAD program from eMachineshop. It's free and fairly easy to use.

It's late and a little hard to follow your text description.

Sounds like this:

I changed my mind about making this design six months ago. A new one is ongoing instead.

It's a nice layout and would look good with a stock.

Aye almost exactly what Hotwired said, sorry about the bad description, 'twas late here to, and I wanted to get it out there...

And No worries Poland, was going to put a section of Pipe out the back of the Tee to rest the bolt in and lock it. Oddly enough thats the first thing my dad said when I ran it by him.

I'm not sure if you thought of it yet, but for the bolt heres an idea:

Instead of making an internal air passage way, just do like theydo in paintball.

Notice they hollowed out a ring around the bolt to get rid of the "orientation up" problem. From the front of the bolt, they drilled holes into the hollowed out section to route air. Not sure if you wanna use the idea or not, but just throwin it out there. 8)

I'm sensing a lack of something in that post Sandman. Did you post in the right topic?

The idea is to make it look as close as possible to an M24, or a version of it, hence why this style was chosen, should put a nice stock on it, either carved wood, or if possible a foam core fiberglass stock.

Im still debating whether or not to use a QEV or a Chamber Sealing Piston. It would be my first piston gun, and Im still iffy on how I'd get a Chamber sealing piston to work. I'd go with a QEV only, to get the stock around the QEV would be awkward, where as with a piston, I can just drill out a hole through the stock and slide it under the barrel and over the chamber to cover most of the gun.
