Hey all, Im a would be first time cannon maker.
Some friends and I have been talking about making a cannon forever so I figure its time to actually start putting something together to scare the neighbours.
Im looking for a VERY simple plan for something powerfull, thinking propane or LPG? Also if theres something out there that doesnt have metric measurements that would be a bonus.
Cheers!

We do not give plans to anyone as a rule that is what we call spoonfeeding, do a little searching for yourself.

I'm going to cut my wrists soon.
We do not give out plans. The end. We do not use our cannons to threaten or harm living beings. If you live in America, your PVC pipe will probably be in imperial.
Look through the cannon showcases for ideas and inspiration, or google it. The reason we don't give out complete plans for cannons is the safety factor; you need to understand what you're doing and how to do it safely.
Welcome to spudfiles.
(note: you might find LPG and propane to be rather similar...)
Common options for fuel are butane, propane or MAPP gas. MAPP gas is just a cocktail of hydrocarbons, and will probably give you the most get up and go.

So far off to a good start then!
Sorry, I thought that asking experienced people for a well drawn out set of plans to follow would be alot safer than guessing but ok!
Im not intending on shooting anything living with it, I have a .303 rifle for that.
My bad on the measurement, I meant to say I need it in metric, not the other way round. From New Zealand for the record.
Thanks for the links, Ill go a'reading.

Im from aussieland as you may have guessed. add me on msn at cmccrindle3@hotmail.com and i will help you with your design. Just on here we do not like to sponfeed people plans right off the block because of the saftey imlications that can and will occur from giving the wrong people them that are not dedicated enough to search and obey the rules.
This is again only for the saftey of newcomers.

Welcome Scentless! Take your time moving around on the site. Along with the showcases already recommended, I also suggest going to burntlatke.com and read the entire site from top to bottom....a couple of times. This is pretty much the defacto how-to manual for combustion cannons....a lot of whys and wherefores included there.
Once you familiarize yourself more, you'll see why you need to understand what you're doing to be a safe and successful spudgunner. Hang around and ask intelligent questions and plan yourself a nice cannon. Once you get to that point, there will be more help than you can handle...

While we won't spoonfeed, figure out a design and then post it... we'll help point out any mistakes or safety errors in the design.
Don't be afraid to ask questions, just show you've done a bit of research and thinking rather than trying to get us to do it all for you.

I wonder how much deeper the ocean would be without sponges.
Right now I'm having amnesia and deja vu at the same time. I think I've forgotten this before.
Add me on msn!!! insomniac-55@hotmail.com

Thanks for that. I just deleted, seeing as how the OP should be able to build one after looking through the links...

As a fellow Kiwi I should warn you that if you are caught with a combustion spudgun you may find yourself paying $4000 and 6 months of your time in a small cell. Whereas if you built a pneumatic, you will be fine as long as you shoot on your own property, do not disturb anyone too much and shoot at things on your own property that you own and you do this in a safe manner. All the while being over the age of 18 or holding an air rifle license.
The only downside is that a combustion can be built from easily accessible and relatively cheap DWV PVC, but a pneumatic will have to be built from harder to find in diameters over 2" and very expensive pressure rated PVC, rated in the PNXX system. Read this:

Anymore questions just ask.
