This is my new marble gun, it's powered by about 9 seconds of butane. It shoots metal ball bearings very fast. I made it in about 20 minutes, not including finding the junk around the house. It can leave a fair sized dent in a wall, and wrecks cans. I hope you like it, and tell me what I should do to improve.

Very nice. I have found that for softer targets a more impressive splat can be made by using a lighter projectile so it hits at a higher speed. Here is a empty juice can hit with a jawbreaker. A heavy projectile would have been much slower.mikemurph wrote:This is my new marble gun, it's powered by about 9 seconds of butane. It shoots metal ball bearings very fast. Nice ghetto launcher. I'm impressed with the performance. That HDPE jug is pretty tough. Edit, added zoom of the damage.
This was a pretty tough target, it was about 4x the thickness of a soda can, it was an old green gas can, It had to be tough to withstand the pressure. Thanks for the tip, I might try it and post some pics
Yea, it inflates a tad bit when I use a burst disk, but it holds wellThat HDPE jug is pretty tough
