I wasn't satisfied with screwing a hunk of aluminum to the bottom of my cannon, but I couldn't find anything off the shelf that had a trigger and a switch. I found a grip frame and figured out a way to attach a switch and away I went.

I liked the idea so much I developed it into a universal grip switch, and then added an ignitor too. Basically it's a 45 style aluminum pistol grip with a trigger (trigger not shown), a switch that is actuated by the trigger, wood grips, an ignitor, some brackets and hunk of aluminum extrusion you can mount to anything with a 1/4" hole to.

Everything together is pretty expensive $110+ but if you strip it down to it's basics: the frame, the trigger, the switch plate and the switch, it ends up being under $45 (second two pics).

I'm hours away from putting one together; the rest of the parts are on a UPS truck.

EDIT:
Google's Picasa web album is having issues, the pics aren't showing... :(
here they are uploaded:

It might not be Google. Spudfiles has size limits. It may be a good idea to take the pictures and edit them to about 800 X 600 pixels and then add them as an attachment like the pic below shows.

It's Google, I rendered the pics 800x600, I'm going to try to re-img them in the OP.

Oh great, now they are working ???

I got the frame, the trigger/sear set, the switch, the wood grips, the top plate and the springs all from Ebay, Mcmaster-Carr, DigiKey, and my local machine shop.

The sear, the switch, the grip plates, and the top plate all require modification, and for lack of a better word "smithing", for them to all work together.

I test fitted the switch last night, and it looks like it's going to work. I still have some holes to drill and tap, and I have to rustle up some #6 screws that are the right length. I'll update here with actual pics once I get it all together.

If it's as good as I hope it's going to be, I'll probably make a few more and throw them up on Ebay for cost and let the goons here know about it. I can't think of anything else that needs a pistol grip and a switch besides a combustion cannon or an electro-pneumatic, but I do know there isn't anything out there under $100 like this.

Smooth roller sear action, classic Colt 1911 ergonomics, near-infinite mounting options and a place to stick an ignitor too? How could you not put this on your next combustion?

EDIT: AS PROMISED, the Integrated Electromechanical Pistol Grip Mount.
