Shuttle Valves
Shuttle valves have two inlets and one common outlet. An internal piston diverts flow from the first inlet to the outlet while blocking flow from the second inlet. When the pressure from the second inlet exceeds that of the first inlet, the piston diverts flow from the second inlet to the outlet and closes the first inlet. They have a brass body and can be mounted in line or directly to valves or cylinders. Use with air, water, and oil. Seal is Buna-N. Max. pressure is 250 psi
would it works as a full-auto valve?
i found it on mc master 6667T11
you would need to make your own i don't think they have good flow

I'm not sure how you would even begin to use it for this. Care to do a rough sketch so we can model the pressures and flow through all phases of fill vent fire.

That seemed to work very well, just not suited for transportation of living entities..
One hell of a piece of firework!
It went further than any of our cannons ever shot..
Anyway.I don't believe the valve could be used in such a way.It just enables filling from two seperate sides.

While making sure the air from one side can't go into the other side.It just enables filling from two seperate sides.
Its just a funky check-valve.

btb is right...
but maybe there is something I am missing here?? how do you think this could work ??
I don't think that Christa McAuliffe would agree with that statement

shuttle valves work pretty good... but one fu### ## o-ring and you are screwedThey don't seem to work very well...
All of the astronauts on board died. Tragic, but still AWESOME
I don't think that Christa McAuliffe would agree with that statement

The way i thought of using it was put air in horizontal 2 inlets and a barrel on outlet and let the valve do what it dose it just shoot short burst of air and max 250 psi. gravity fed mag on the barrel
What is the use of feeding air through two horizontal inlets?
If so, wouldnt a simple T-piece be more efficient in joining the flows?
The only use of this valve is to join two inputs and put them out of one output, while making sure no air can get driven back into an input, and making sure that only the strongest air feed is used.
You could build some sort of shuttle valve by using a T-piece, with two checkvalves on the inputs.

Why build it when its 8$ and rated 250 psi. I cant buy stuff of the net so im tying to build one. Made the piston To day its just a piece of soft rubber 1cm long and the same od as the id of a 1/4 female T. i have to get 2 1/4 hose barbs
Don't see how it wont works it gives short burst of air at 250psi. maybe the burst are to small but worth a try. If it works il post it then make a mag and test it.

what do you mean by short bursts of air ?? it won't give you short burst of air...
read more about it on p.15 -> http://www.newequipment.com/media/Compa ... 000092.pdf

For ***'s sakes, what are you trying to do with this valve?!
Do you even understand what it does? And thus, do you understand that it is not useful for anything that has to do with "short bursts"?
This valve can NOT produce a pulsed airflow all by itself, air goes in, air goes out, no pulsing or whatsoever. Try to draw something so we can understand what you are trying to do, and save you from building something that doesnt work.

It's more than a check valve. This enables two supply sources to for example to operate an air cylinder with a spring return where your valve needs to vent the air back out. Two valves tied in parallel won't work because the air from one valve would vent out the other valve as unpressed, it releases air. This way either valve could supply and vent air from the cylinder.psycix wrote:While making sure the air from one side can't go into the other side.It just enables filling from two seperate sides.

Its indeed more then a check valve, thats why I put the word "funky" in.
