Humvee mounts on production versionstarman wrote:Man that thing is big...even though I see what looks like a shoulder mount, it's probably not very practical to be handheld...could there be a ground mount of some sort in the works?
Love the sabot, love the monster energy available...

Oh yeah, Humvee mount should do very nicely....jagerbond wrote:Humvee mounts on production versionstarman wrote:Man that thing is big...even though I see what looks like a shoulder mount, it's probably not very practical to be handheld...could there be a ground mount of some sort in the works?

120" of a 3" sched 80 barrel, in and of itself and not even counting chamber and ignition parts ....is big...and heavy...and cumbersome. Sure, it isn't the largest cannon ever....it's just too big to be practically handheld.Technician1002 wrote:800 cubic inches isn't all that big. My 2 inch valve launcher is only 100 cubic inches smaller. It's slightly larger than 3 US gallons.

Probably worth mentioning that the final model set to be semi auto and all aluminum.
3" compound rounds made it clean through from 15 yards. UHMW compound round video shoot set for tomorrow.

We tested the 630 today at 100 yards and clocked our 440 gram 3" UHMW rounds at 460fps. Although considerably slower than baseballs, we were pleasantly surprised to find only a 36" drop at 100 yards. Target was a 3' x 3' van door and the rounds carried enough energy for good penetration.
Videos processing. here's a couple photos.

This model has to give you an "adrenaline rush" when you fire it.
I felt one just watching the video!
The rounds look very stable. Are they 1 caliber COG to COP differential like the other sizes?
Keep up the great research, design and manufacture of "Ultimate' launchers.

Thanks Duane and thanks for your input.dewey-1 wrote:This model has to give you an "adrenaline rush" when you fire it.

Adrenalin rush.. absolutely. I've been a gun guy my whole life and this is something completely different... like deer slugs on steroids.
The rounds are actually 1/2 caliber CG/CP and based on the same equation as our others.

Fantastic stuff!
I love the fact that it's travelling relatively slowly but still arrives on target with enough energy to punch through not to mention the delay between shot and impact.
Also kudos for the firing setup, but since not everyone has a forklift and you've got it to the size where it becomes awkward to aim, wouldn't it be a better isea to provide some sort of bipod attachment?

wow...
this thing is really big
but that got me thinking... do you plan to build a hybrid?
you'd have to switch from PVC to metal to do so but that could result in a more compact gun

Thats an awesome video! Cool gun and massive for sure. I had a fun thought. Hearing that round wizz in the air made me think it might be fun to make a round with some whistle slots or grooves cut into it so that it whistles loud when fired.
I hear you on the set up... rear control, bi pod or Hum Vee mount is a must. This is a low cost, proof of concept more than anything.jackssmirkingrevenge wrote: Also kudos for the firing setup, but since not everyone has a forklift and you've got it to the size where it becomes awkward to aim, wouldn't it be a better isea to provide some sort of bipod attachment?
