I decided to pressurize the input to my compressor.
I soldered a 1/4" male quick connect x 3/8 NPT Female to my 8,000 BTU a/c compressor input line.
The input line was the perfect size copper to directly thread the quick connect by wrenching it on and cutting its own threads.
I happen to have a 2 cylinder wobble pump designed for hospital use that can put out 150 psi..
I connected the wobble pump to the a/c pump and simultaneously turned them on.
Working together my 3/4" L x 17" air cannon chamber got to 600 psi in 40 seconds. Wow!
The wobble pump gauge read 25 psi while this was happening. (no tank).
Prior to this, the a/c compressor would get to 550 psi and struggle or instantaneously cause the gauge to jump to 600 psi.???
Now, it smoothly and quickly reaches 600 psi.
I need another gauge to read higher pressures.
Anyone know the Type 3/4" L copper burst pressure?
Pressurizing my gun to 600 psi in 40 seconds.

very nice, ive had my compressor hooked up like this since abot the middle of winter and i would HATE to go back. today i will do a timed fill to compare to your times but i have a disadvantage because the entire shell of the compressor is filled with the hpa giving about 10cubicin of extra space to pump(very often more than the gun im filling).
also adding input pressure(with radial compressors, dont know about piston) Reduces the max pressure, i did a test with 100psi in and it pumped ungodly fast but stalled out at 450psi. this is due to the large amout of extra air in the compressor that has to be squessed with each revolution.

my fridge compressor takes about 3 min to fill a 1300ml FE to 300psi
and about 80 sec when i put 40

I definitely need to try this. Maybe I'll even take it a step further since I have both an A/C pump and a dehumidifier pump. I could add low pressure air into one and then use that one to feed the other.

600 psi is nothing to one of these. I believe either Brian or Poland (or both) once took theirs over the 900 psi mark. These things are designed to do a lot of work.

Oh! It's one of those high-pressure hand pumps used for pellet guns, or other (some of those go up to 4000PSI or so)!
