well... yeah :D
but it's the simplest method and one that actually works fine...
just get a QEV + DCV and a few fittings... you might even use an airsoft hop-up unit if you are too lazy to build your own loading mech.

Though, personally, I think that pneumatic launchers are a dead end...
lol the law of diminishing returns.... that pretty much sums it up

Thx god DCVs can be useful for hybrids too :D

lol you know I am right... :-D I could get at least 3-4 times as much power as I get now... and it's not that I need a lot of new parts

I'm just bitter that I couldn't get my hybrid carts to work :-/ but let's not hijack the topic.

ohh well I hope I am not hijacking the topic...

he wouldn't need as many pumps to achieve greater power if it was a hybrid... so it is definitely something to think about

I would love to build a hybrid for just that reason, but my parents are wary on the propane part :? One day I hope to sway them, but for now my pneumatic venture lives on

Wary, surely, unless you've been talking about it so much they're tired of it ;)

If single shot performance is what you're after, optimising the design will allow you to up the power without resorting to fuel/air mixtures.

I'm always slipping extra lettters into my typing, it just really becomes obvious when it changes the definition.

The only way I could optimize the design is with a proper airsoft barrel, but that would require a hack saw and a rebuild

I think that a simple QEV + DCV combo is the answer... but you need a way to lower the pressure to 500 psi or so
You might be right?,a DCV Valve may be my only way of doing it but I know very little about them!.Is there a small one you can suggest that can handle high pressures?,but the co2 will still have to be regged down as well.

So this would require a VERY SMALL co2 regulator in the pistol but such a small reg doesnt exist as far as I know?.

Clippard's MJVO-3 seems quite good but I wouldn't say it is that small. Also it is a bit pricey (though not if you live in the US).

Alternatively you might consider using direct acting solenoid valves. Some of them are rated to 40 bar or more. Though most miniature valves are rated to much lower pressures.

I am guessing that this one is rated to 10 bar max

Someone probably offers similar stuff rated higher. You might want to visit this site for more info http://www.zdspb.com/tech/misc/solenoids.html

I actually use the MJVO-3 Valve on my 9mm Semi Auto ,cost about $30.00 Aust and are pretty small really, though as ive said on other threads = if you use the MJVO-3 and Qev set up it will require an air chamber too, for the qev.

With all this,it wont be pistol sized anymore  one day I'll figure out how to do it,I MUST

well you can always build a valveless launcher
http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/valvele ... 21143.html
If the gun works reliably then it uses relatively little air... Have a look at the last page and jack's drawings

This could easily be made in pistol configuration. I ordered a new pipe bender suitable for 1/4" copper, so hope to make a prototype shortly.
