For a long time I have wanted to build my own airsoft gun, I think I have done it.
I designed it in sketchup, had the flat parts laser cut and was able to mill and turn the receiver with the help of a friend.
The gun is called an MP3008 and was a German copy of the sten gun.
it was built at the end of the war as a people's gun.
I designed it as an electric powered gun, but once finished I could not get the Airsoft gearbox it was designed for, so I decided to convert it to gas.
I have been a long time fan of JSR's blow forward bolt so decided to use that.
The pilot valve is a cut down blow gun.
The gun will be powered by HPA and or CO2.
Test firing while hooked upto my compressor was consistent with no miss fires.
Heres a couple of pictures ( a bit blurry)
Thanks to JSR and others who helped.
The gun is semi auto ( In New Zealand it is illegal to own a full automatic airsoft gun, is treated as a real gun )
The picture below should have all the details on it
Below is a video of it firing, connected to my compressor at 80 - 90 psi.
To me the hiss after the bb leaves the barrel indicates waste air from the manual trigger pull and the gun would benefit from some kind of pulse valve

Fuçk me, that's beautiful!
Can you post a more detailed diagram of the worky bits, it's hard to see the exact mechanism in the photo.
Great job!

looks VERY good!
makes me realize that I put out quite poor stuff, for a person with access to machinery...
I would really like to see a vid of it. I think the sound it makes is quite a bit better than the vortex/cloud BBMG's.

but that hose looks like the stuff we use at work for grease nipple extensions. 10k psi burst pressure.

I knew you'd say something about them.POLAND_SPUD wrote:Do I see push-to-connect fittings??
One important detail, is it full or semi-auto?

Fantastic, you will be impressed with the power increase with HPA, though I hope the blow forward bolt can take it.

pop off valve or a 555 timer and solenoid valveLazyboy wrote:Thanks for the comments .
I thinking of trying to devise a pulse valve so to cut the shsss after the BB leaves the barrel, any ideas?
