o-ring detente is not good for a vortex bbmg, I have tried some o-ring detente in a cloud bbmg, it needs +200 psi for the bbs to fire and the o-ring is already very easy for the bbs to pass. If you push the bb with you hand you won´t need any efforts at all, even through that it needs +200 psi, a pvc bbmg would explode

Crna, in theory it seems easy but when you actually put that in a PVC coupling without modification, it wouldn't be that simple. The taper would probably mess things up and the male threaded parts wouldn't go in far enough to seat the o-ring. On top of that, the o-ring would have threads around it, which could damage it and make seating not as easy.

I was thinking of plastic electrical fittings probobly should have said that , they have straight threads and I said he would need to mod the coupling so yeah. I do think it would be better to use sheet rubber in place of O-rings because it would grip better.Gun Freak wrote:Crna, in theory it seems easy but when you actually put that in a PVC coupling without modification, it wouldn't be that simple. Oh, ok. Sheet rubber would have to be precicely cut though.

That's why you ppl use rubber washersOh, ok. Sheet rubber would have to be precicely cut though.
Though o-rings are superior in terms of sealing (and, unfortunately, more problematic to mount)

Even a rubber washer would have to be cut down, unless your threaded fitting is way bigger than the barrel. Depends on the situation I guess. Rubber washer between metal washers is my favorite way.

i used some rubber sheet, sandwiched between 2 steel washers.
The washers had a 8mm hole, and i poked a 4mmm hole in the sheet rubber.
This worked very well on my vortex block.... until the sheet rubber wore out, and was useless.

yeh but where would I get a threaded coupling in a similar size to my pipe, and the o-ring would just be glued between the threads correct? If I even used 1//2in pvc pipe it would be twice the size that I needed it.

Could I make a detent from a bb with a spring behind it intersecting the barrel, I saw that other places, but how would I make one.

here's some other ways of making a detent, silicone tubing is a good thing to have make sure the inner diameter is slightly smaller than your projectile diameter, for example 4mm ID tubing for 4.5mm BBs.
