Hey guys, I went to shoot my in-line vortex, and it shot about 3 feet. We noticed that the chamber that held the bbs was leaking air. My question is will pvc hold like 100 psi safely or will it explode, but if it will explode, then how do people make vortexes not explode? Let me know what you guys think and how I can fix the pressure leak and if it will be safe.

Glue properly to prevent leaks.
There is not a chance in hell that your pvc would fail at 100 psi in a bbmg. The internal pressure only gets to about 30 psi.

Yeh I saw that link, It was helpful in confirming my idea on the air leak, but it was helpful. And my barrel will definitely withstand 100 psi, it is part of a lamp, but it is as thick as pvc, but metal, thanks for all the help guys

... but what is the internal diameter and how does it compare to the diameter of your projectiles?pacoeltacco wrote:And my barrel will definitely withstand 100 psi

That's quite a gap, a tighter barrel will improver power and range significantly - there are several sources of true 6mm ID tube if yuo have a look round the forum.

do you think that a .25 inch barrel would be considerably better, oh and I'm gonna seal it up first and see how it shoots, then make modifications.
6 millimeters = 0.236220472 in (Via google)
I wouldent use anthing bigger than a 0.24'' barrel... and even that is kind big. at 6.09600

Here is is a comparison of blowby percentage based on the BB diameter. Basically it shows loss of power between barrel types.
Your 1/8 inch pipe requires about 40% more power than a tightbore barrel.
Your pipe barrel would require 140 psi verses 100 psi for a tight bore for equivalent power.
This should explain why you need a tight bore barrel.
