some questions about vortex cap bbmgs
Hi I am new to this forum and i am about to embark on building my first bbmg. I have built several cannons and other things so i have experience using tools and building things. I looked at some topics explaining how vortex cap bbmgs work but there are a few things i am unclear on. First of all every one says you need to carve out a groove in the cap in relation to the barrel what is this and how do i make it? Second, i can see that the chamber that holds the bbs can be removed like a magazine is the pipe that holds the bbs friction fitted or is it got some sort of mechanism to hold it on i should know about? thirdly, what are some good dimensions for a gravity fed vortex cap bbmg? Also any advice for the build and pics of all the bits and bobs that make these things would be helpful thanks in advance!

Alright so number 1, basically the barrel hole needs to be perpendicular to the air inlet hole and the BBs need a straight path into the barrel at the top of their revolution in the cap, so the top of the barrel needs to be flush with the top of the vortex cap.
I'll chime in for número dos, you'll want a mechanism to secure it, for sure. A friction fit with some sort of lock would work but would not be very airtight. I would go with a threaded fitting or an o-ring sealed magazine.
About #3, anything around 1" will work fine.
