Hello all,
I am building a new canon for airsofting. I do launch potatoes, tennis-balls, and even large sticks when we run out of ammo. I need something that is mostly portable, has a range of at least 200 meters and costs less that $100. The one we use currently is getting old and is starting to malfunction in the field. Since it malfunctioned me and three others ended up being captured and held hostage. The fifteen + holes in my arms and chest must be avenged at the next war so please any ideas would be much appreciated. also any ideas for a small combustible shotgun style killstick?

Buy a QEV on eBay or make your own and if you can affoard, buy a paintball-tank with regulator and fittings for fast "supply of air"!

That sure doesn't sound like it's a good ideaForum Rules wrote:Discussion of shooting anything at any person and/or animal is prohibited, and may result in a permanent banning of your account.

I believe spudfiles generally doesn't care about the discussion of cannons used in scenario games as long as you don't ask what is safe to shoot at people and or mention your spudgun hunting ventures that might upset people or make us legally liable.
I would also never recommend a combustion cannon for a scenario game, while they are convenient they aren't consistent or reliable

As the others have mentioned, don't use a combustion. It's my understanding that many fields don't allow them either.
What will the main type of ammo be for the cannon anyway, large BB sabots?
If you're launching potatoes and what not at other people on the field, take your discussion to another forum.I do launch potatoes, tennis-balls, and even large sticks when we run out of ammo

I usually use tennis balls but yes large bb sabots will more than likely be used as well. The killstick I am referring to is 1.5 inch straight pipe that shoots nothing but a sabot of bbs. Something small and very portable to get us out of tough situations. The nice thing is that we just airsoft in the woods out behind the house or at someone else's. Only thing is we fight with pro level guns. The only time I shoot potatoes is on the weekends when I have nothing better to do than try to smack trees around from 100 + yards

Any cannon that can shoot 200 meters with a Nerf pocket football shouldn't be shot at people closer without having the muzzle velocity be adjustable... which is why a combustion is a horrible idea.
Any pneumatic with a decent valve and a large enough barrel should be able to do what you need, and is adjustable. A QEV or even a sprinkler valve can do what you ask.
