Hi i've been looking around a bunch, and am super interested in building a simple bb/dart gun (breach loaded i think). I have a bunch of questions. What would be the best source of propulsion for a budget, and ineveitably, a low powered system (i dont have an air compressor or big paintball co2 tank)? I dont really have any tools to work with besides the basics, so everything's gonna be storebought. I was thinking either a small co2 cartrige-to-bike pump (since there's already a trigger built in), using a bike pump to pressurize pvc tubing (what valve would i use to release the air quickly?). Or am i better off just trying to cannibalize some nerf gun internals to shoot bbs? Definitely favor the co2 bike pump (no pumping), but dont really know what power i can get from it. I really just want to shoot little darts or bbs at cardboard and cans. thanks, any input really appreciated.

Sounds like you all ready know what you want, draw it up, post it and we will help you make adjustments to get a working cannon.

*JSR shock pump reference* :D

As for the breech loader, I made a BB gun a while back with a compression nut based one. Drill out the tubing stop, drill a hole the BB will fit in in the tubing, and slide the compression nut over the hole, tighten to seal, loosen to slide and load.

EDIT: rummaged up a picture
