Hey everyone! I have ready through the forums and first would like to thank you all for the information you have shared!

I recently built my first basic combustion spud cannon with a 30" barrel. Seeing how well it works I want to build something BIGGER. I mean, WAY bigger.

I'm curious what C:B's and dimensions people have used. Also, I'm curious if huge combustion cannons are effective. If you could share your experiences I would appreciate it!

as far as large combustions go, it doesn't get much bigger than this:

Veginator your link doesn't work. As for my cannon, I think I'm sitting right around a .8:1 ratio if I remember right, it's been a while since I actually built it. All I know is it's over 8 1/2 feet long.

What kind of distance can you get with an .8:1 ratio with your gun?

Meiso, check the spudwiki article on "EVBEC". I think it'll help you a lot.

That said, large combustions benefit from chamber fans and multiple ignition points.

Well i have neither a chamber fan nor multiple ignition points. But I get a pretty consistent 250 yards-ish.

are u gonna use propane? if so, use .8:1 ratio. If your gonna use hairspray and stuff like that, use 1:1 ratio

By the way, I use Static Guard. This is just until I get enough cash to make a metering system.

Mate you gust have to up size everything from your basic launcher?
1.5ltr cb to 5 ltr 65mm barrel to 105mm. I think thats how you'd do it!

why not get into pneumatics? pneumatics are usually more powerful...

but anyway combustions are always portatble....

why does everyone think metering systems are hard to make and expensive?? you need two pieces of pipe (small nipples) a tee the size of your pipe, a hose and a bottle of propane...

... probably also need either a regulator or a pressure gauge and a fitting for the propane tank.

Actually, all you need for a fuel meter is a $1 syringe and needle and a $1 disposable butane lighter (or a Benzomatic type torch if you've already got one.)
