Pressure rated fittings are a real pain to find, especially in 4". You may want to reconsider the design to use a smaller diameter pipe, since then you could use galvanized steel...which is everywhere.

You may want to try and find a plumbing supply shop in your area, they can usually order directly from the manufacturer.

oh and is NFS-61 pressure rated? (fittings from mcmaster)
Gepard wrote:FFS guys - pretend you got a pair and stop moaning! 7 bucks is nothing! Over here a 4" endcap is 7 quid that's 14 bucks! Plus VAT at 17%, your getting on for $16!

I pay $40NZD or in US dollars $30USD for a 4" pressure rated cap, consider yourself lucky you only pay $7USD, so if you think you have a pair for paying $14USD I must have....2 Pairs  JJ :P

I say man up and spend $7US on a fitting, stop having a cry that 5 parts cost you $50US, a 3" tee cost me the equiv of $50US. Just be happy your more fortunate and better of then the rest of us.

umm you can to make it rougher and therefore able to grab better...im an asshole..
i do not just want to lift it.. i want it to be easily portable and below 10 pounds... a 4 inch peice of metal 4 feet long alone is going to weigh 20 pounds!

Put it on a stand. Or if 4 feet weighs 20 lbs, cut it down to a 1 foot chamber with an appropriatly sized barrel.

A four foot chamber isn't that portable, even if its PVC. Kind of unwieldly if you ask me, even if its an over under type cannon.
im an idiot..if i put it on a stand it will weigh more and be even harder to hold...

umm no..i do not want a 1 foot chamber.. i have 3 ten foot barrels already and the whole gun planned out.. i want a big gun.. dont post in my threads anymore because u think ur all mighty and tough but your a dickhead who is a big idiot with like 2 guns!

a 4 foot chamber is definately portable...

you get around with your four foot stomache

and mods please dont lock this thread i didnt start the fight jsut do something to not let them post here i need help not arguments or dickheads ruining my ambition...

If you don't stop calling people idiots you will have a posting ban very soon.

Is all this anger coming from me telling you your site sucks? Seems so.

If you want it under 10 pounds, you arent going to have a 10 foot barrel with an appropriatly sized air chamber in 4" pipe. It'd be fine if you wanted a big gun, or a light gun. But you can't have the best of both worlds. Sorry.

Don't complain about McMaster being expensive, that's what happens when you want to make a big gun.

P.P.S. If you put it on a stand, you dont have to hold it. I figured that was common knowledge though. Also, YGPM, so I don't clutter the thread up.

P.P.S. You don't sand the pipe to "roughen it up to "grab" better" you use primer which softens up the pipe for a better solvent weld

If you use two 8' long chambers of 2" pipe, along with a 10 foot barrel, it will be 10 feet long since you are making it an over-under type cannon. (unless somehow you are making an inline piston)

Well, your plumbing supply store carried fittings, so does McMaster. Now this whole thread is basically about the cost of fittings, in which they will always be pricey since you must have a 4" chamber for some reason.

Just buy the expensive fittings and quit complaining about how much they are. Or do the intelligent thing and go with 2 chambers of 2" pipe.

Modder, I have to agree with Spudthug there. He has only complained about the lack of pressure fittings - he would never think about complaining/whining/moaning about the price!:

damn 4" parts are expensive
..the effing caps are 7 USD apeice! thats efifng outragous!!
thats the problem!!! it is pvc!!! thats how much pvc is!! the metal 4 inch threaded caps are actually less than that!!
@modder- a little more?!?! i jsut checked mcmaster and its costing me 50 dollars for 5 parts and they dont even have everything i need!! i am definately not ordering from mcmaster..
