Re: I see we have a new skin …

… and probably back end, which I'm sure has taken an age to get online, time taken over the holiday period by our tireless host. Thanks, man. Now that's over, can I be the first one to complain? Now, I'm sure the new skin is all mobile-compliant, and all that, and I'm probably the only person in th...

Re: I see we have a new skin …

Overall it looks good, nice to see that everything now loads properly over TLS, and the new skin is far more aesthetically pleasing than the ~2013 iteration, which made the site look like a shitty nerf gun forum from 2003. This may sound harsh, but with that abomination in the scrapheap where it be...

Reputation system and the new layout

One of the things that seems to have been lost with the redesign is the previous reputation system, forum ranking is now based on post count. I see we now have a "thanking" system but it seems a shame that the previous thumbs up/thumbs down ranks are lost and it has been reset to zero. Stalin would ...

Re: I was hoping for some feedback on my oxy-propane combustion cannon.

Oxygen is a huge liability. Not many people really seems to understand that. I've personally been close to an incident which killed a young man with a wife and 3 little kids at home. The smoke had not yet cleared when I walked through the area wondering what the hell just happened. The root cause wa...

The BBM rapid-fire BB gun

This one is just a fun experiment to answer a question that's been nagging me for over 30 years. Demonstration is at the end.

Re: Port size vs performance

Some more thoughts on the thought experiment.... It assumes constant density, but this is obviously incorrect. But what DOES density do? In the first moments after the valve opens, not much. Constant density probably isn't a bad approximation. But as the projectile accelerates we know that pressure ...

QEV CO2 valve

Hello everyone. I made a new valve, it will work on CO2. How it looks inside can be seen in the diagram. The turner made the blue part for me on the machine, I soldered it inside the tee.

Autonomous pistol .22

My new self-made short gun. It is a hybrid pistol, with a built-in air pump, that operates with 8x and five strokes only. It shoots common pellets, .22, and the firing barrel is 12 micro-ridged, 200mm long. My friend's chrono gave about 650 fps on 4.5 ml of butane. It weighs about 900 grams, and ret...

Re: pages won't open

Honestly, my web hosts support on this matter has been awful. Here we are all this time later and I am still attempting to demonstrate the problem. Needless to say, PCGUY is not pleased. My hands are a bit tied. I did move SpudFiles to a less costly hosting package, the trade off was that I was no l...
