Latest electro-pneumatic with automated velocity control and laser range finder. Air burst system optional. FCU has electronic pressure sensor, firing, round charging and programming based on LRF data.

Image of airburst was a round fired at 400fps 150ft from target.

Are you making the rounds as well or are they off the shelf units? Awesome work!

Thank you.

We are making the rounds as well. They are lightweight rigid foam with a hollow nose for payload. We manufacture a fuze that uses an ultra-capacitor in lieu of a battery that gets charged in .150mS after closing the breech. The FCU identifies the type of round and programs accordingly from LRF and pressure sensor data.

Very impressive technology, what kind of application do you have in mind for these?

Non-contact OC or taggent dispersal, flash bang, anti-drone net rounds, and drag chute deployment for reducing impact for less-lethal rounds to maintain faster initial velocity and flatter trajectories. Nothing lethal, that would require more safeguards. This is designed as a low cost air-burst technology for non and less lethal applications. The on board cpu can also save telemetry data for diagnosing flight characteristics. We also have a tiny LED on back of round that acts like a tracer.

You mention non-lethal are these gentle enough for say mil-sim or surprise gender-reveal parties

You can fire them at as low a pressure as you want with smooth bore. The rifled rounds need a little push to cut the grooves though. We want to do some paintball and airsoft rounds as well but need to get the base products off the ground first. Going to revisit the revolver in a 5 round version and a few other multi-shot versions by next year.

Pretty cool. I am most interested in how this could be used in paintball/airsoft.

I'm wondering though if the round fails to discharge in the air, how would it hurt if it directly hits someone?

Paintballs might be a little big to fit any considerable amount in it. And you still have to consider how it would be getting hit with the whole bundle in case of a failed discharge. Maybe you could use mini paintballs half the size to fit more in.

The shells can hold about a dozen .68 sized paintballs and around 40 .50 caliber ones. We use biodegradable sabots on either side of paintballs so there is no risk of shell not opening.

That's just unbelievable.

Have you basically made a pneumatic version of the XM25?

Does it have a countdown timer to initiate the round based on a predetermined expected trajectory or is it counting revolutions assuming a rifled barrel?

The current fuze is capable of both time based and turn counting activation(or hybrid). We are finishing testing of the time based features then will begin testing with the latest turn counter chip that will give us true binary data(the last one recorded dips and peaks but required more complex code). We take into account weight, pressure, and custom ballistic curve that we determine from mm accurate doppler data. We have a +/-3fps shot to shot consistency but can also incorporate adjustments for ballast pressure variation or atmospheric pressure. Just building up databases now. Each round has it's own unique identification and can upload ballistic data or other pertinent information to the launcher such as weight, type of round, etc..(this will be useful in remote multishot systems) The rounds are charged in the split second after the breech is closed so no batteries to worry about. You can let the LRF continuously update the fuze or lock the LRF and add or subtract offset for detonation meter at a time. The gun does all the calculations and just sends the round timing and/or turn count data. We also have RF data link capability with an added daughter board. The rounds also have the option of being self chronographing to further fine tune timing data. At one point we were using induction charging but the direct link gives us a faster rate of fire for multi-shot systems. Adding some mechanical safeties to comply with mil-std but will have multiple versions based on use and requirememts. The basic version is not designed for potentially lethal applications, but as a low cost fuze alternative for non and less lethal use. At some point they could qualify for use with lethal systems but right now we are focused on providing a safer way of deploying OC, flash bangs, and anti-drone countermeasures. We are currently using a small picatinny rail mounted OLED for data feedback but plan on incorporating into electronic scope system.

Not sure why I am having trouble uploading the file but here is a youtube video of the LRF identifying two targets at 25 and 50m and detonating the shells before they impact.

If airplanes or drones were ever used in paintball these rounds could be used as flak fire lol.

This would still be effective at blinding drones. I doubt any of their camera lenses use wipers :D
