So I got it finished quite quickly today, 2 barrel sleeves and spacers made and painted. Turned out looking better than I ever thought it could. Barrel extension is removable with 2 bolts, stock with 1 bolt.
Fully assembled weight is 3.25Kg (7.2Lbs) length is 1015mm (40") Barrel is 6mm ID/10mm OD seamless stainless, total length 600mm (from breach) 23.5".
short barrel is 280mm (11") the extension is 320mm (12.5")
The lower body is the chamber, 1" PVC. The main valve is a 3/8" QEV off Ebay, trigger is a 1/8" 3/2 limit switch.
All the aluminum parts are made from scrap pieces I collected, all hand fabricated, probably 40 to 60 hours to put it together , I never keep track really cause I make parts as I go along for more than one project at a time
Onto the next project, I have 2 I'm working on, maybe another one after that , and I do still have that piece of 1/2" seamless tubing

Just gonna make a couple of extra parts for it, trigger guard and a barrel cover when the extension is not on, like a birdcage flash hider
Did a rough chrono check with the Android app, 0.2g BBs = 300fps with long barrel, 280fps with short.
Will try and get some heavier BBs, maybe 0.4s, especially as my next project has a much longer barrel.

That's... not too impressive if accurate to be honest. With a QEV and I'm guessing 100-150 psi you should be going upwards of 500 fps easily with 0.2g BBs. I think you need a proper chrony, they can be had for less than 100 dollars Supersonic BBs are within reach if you ever decide to go to higher pressures.Did a rough chrono check with the Android app, 0.2g BBs = 300fps with long barrel

So here is the video, it is 4 joined together, not great quality.
This is how the barrel attaches

Still bugged by poor accuracy, I think the barrel material is actually too tight, it is 6mm ID but not precision tube, if you drop a BB in the barrel it will not freely drop through, my older BB attempts use 7mm ID tube with 1/4' (6.4mm) ball bearings and they are very accurate at close distance, so I might try polishing out the barrel especially the extension, I think the little bumps are acting like multiple hop ups so the BB can go in any direction.

Polishing made a huge difference, started with a round file down the bore and sliding it back and forwards for a couple of minutes, then some fine abrasive cloth on a rod until the BB would fall through. I have a piece of M6 silver steel rod which is pretty much 6.00mm OD, will cut a piece of this and use as a gauge and keep polishing until it goes all the way through both barrels.

Well that's interesting, apparently I did that 2 years agofarcticox1 wrote:just did a very quick test as I plan on using some 7mm ID tube to shoot 6mm airsoft as I need the barrel curved.
With a straight 18" barrel, 7mm ID tube, at 10 feet, fired 4 shots, 2 went through the same hole, 1 was 1/4" off, 1 was 1/2" off.
Good enough for me.

Clean work and every shot you make save your own construction. Nothing cuter than that. I congratulate him. regards

I want to know about BB of 0.2 gr supersonic. Have you done any of this Jack? ...jackssmirkingrevenge wrote:That's... not too impressive if accurate to be honest. Yes, I know that, but how much more pressure? ... I need a fairly broad approach, nothing exact ...
I want to shoot with a hybrid of 02 gr BB. The problem is that I do not have a chronograph. In my country, they are very expensive.
