I think if you can't figure it out, you shoulden't have a spudgun
But really, what kind of ignitor? Flint sparker? BBQ ignitor? what?

There is no need to open it, in fact if you open it you'll probally end up breaking it.
Just connect the 2 pins comming off to 2 screws that are near eachother, and they will arc and make a spark. In fact, i've never seen anyone open one, most are sealed.
If you don't have 2 pins, only 1, then there should be some copper/metal strip on the side. Just connect a wire to that, and a wire to the pin, and do the same with the screws.

Are you talking about the lighter that is just like a stick, and you click a trigger and it makes a flame? If so, that's the whole wrong ignitor :p
You want a BBQ ignitor, same thing you see on your BBQ, red button, etc. Heck go outside if you have a BBQ and look at the back of the ignitor, you'll see some wires (or 1 wire) comming off it. Those make the sparks.

what do u mean jsut the lighter, this is a bbq lighter with a red button right, not like a long nose lighter, cuz im just as confused as pc, u shouldnt have to take anything out of a bbq lighter.

It's basically impossibal to make a stungun out of that
There is a small chance you could, but it would be crazy weak. I suggest just a flint ignitor, at least you know what they look like now
Because the BBQ ignitors we're talking about can be $10-$15, and not tryin to sound mean but I think your going to end up breaking it.

o, thats not a bbq lighter, try and just pry it open once its empty so fluid and such doesnt go all over, cuz i think all u need is the trigger and that shouldnt brake if u pry it open with like a screw driver, i might be worng, get a second opinion, thats just how i'd do it
