ripoff artist?
what do you guys think of this site?
http://www.americanaircannons.com
seems to me his site is a ripoff of spudtech and burnt latke (lots of copy/paste ex: the FAQ)
and he sells some dinky ass chamber air cannons for like $200 a piece...
doesnt joel have a copywright on his site? i wonder if it pisses him off that he copy/pasted his faq onto his site?

Ya, I wouldn't think of buying from that site. Like you said, those chambers are tiny! (I think they are the same size for the tb, gb, and ppb) and he charges $200!!! I thought that Joel's prices were high, but at least his are designed well!

In one of pics, it says Courtesy of Burnt Latke.com so he's giving proper credit for that one.
This one on the baout us page:

Other than that, I saw no other rip-off images. That guy is running legitimately.

not his faq, it's ripped straight of the spud tech faq
ah, didnt see that, but i mean come on, almost all the text on his site (especially in the about us and faq sections) is directly ripped off from joel's and latke's site. I mean, shouldnt that tell you something right there? he's using copywrighted (i dunno if joel has really got a copywright on his site content) stuff from joels site in his "about us" section. he slightly modified some of the things on his faq page but its generally ripped from spudtech.com
in the about us section he copy/pasted exactly what the definition of a combustion spud gun on latke's site.
the cannons for $200 and $300 are not necessarily wonderful either not painted and i dont see a pressure relief valve either, dangerous maybe?
id have to say his business method is "questionable" to say the least, check out joels $299 air cannon, it uses a supah valve not a modded orbit watermaster. id reccomend him over this guy any day and i think its dishonest to directly copy someone elses work that they actually did something (other than ctrl + c and ctrl + v) to create. if i was joel and latke id be pissed

i think it's a rip off, but his guns looks good, i bet he's leaving it on the net and just to see if anyone cares.

Ont he topic of copyrights, the second you right, draw, paint, take a picture, whatever, it is copyrighted to you. I looked into this because I started in the hobby of photography a year and a hhalf ago to see what I needed to do to copyright my work (if any of you read popular photography I was in there last may). You don't need to do anything for your copyright but there is a legal process you can choose to do that will help in serious cases.
