I will answer this double posting I keep getting. I got another comment from MrCrowley when I signed in. I build guns and have for a number of years. My intention when joining this site was to share pictures and ideas of what I have learned. I still have a lot to share here.
I,m starting to get the feeling this is a high school English class where typos are more important than content. I went through that many many years ago. I am 63 now and have learned a few things.
I,m fairly new to this site and how the program works so occasionally I make mistakes with typos and posting.
My first comment from MrCrowley was, "There is no excuse for double posting". Give me a break here, do you want me to share designs and pictures or are you only concerned with a few typos.
I like sharing and there are really nice people on here. I,m starting to get gun shy about sending in anything now for fear of getting the evil typo and double posting comments.
Anyway I said it so life will go on.

Usually I wouldn't reply to something like this, but since your facts are incorrect, I feel obliged too.

First of all, keep this personal stuff to PM's, hence the 'Private' in Private Message.

Second, I didn't complain about your typo's, just your 5 posts in a row and a few other double posts. As long as your post is coherent, mis spell all you want.

Thirdly, in my PM I didn't say "There is no excuse for double posting".
Since you made this public, so will I. This is my PM to fred.

Subject: Double Posting
Hey,

Please don't double post, or quadruple post for that matter, your post count wont matter once I edit all your posts, so don't try to get a huge post count that way.

Nice work btw, keep to the rules.

Thanks.

As you notice, I was calm and collective about it and said it in a nice way. He then replied saying I 'blasted' him. Sorry if the wrong impression came across, but make sure you read all messages thoroughly.

I usually write better messages but I was in a rush at the time, doing many things and just needed to get the point across.

If you don't believe me you can ask PCGUY for the official PM records which he will have.

I think typos can be forgiven, there are lot of people here for example who don't speak English as their first language and I can understand how age and background is also a factor.

As to the double posting, it's very simple to master - if your post is the last one and you want to add something, instead of adding a new post simply click the Image button on the top right of your last post and add what you wanted to say to the text that's already there.

This little bit of etiquette might sound like forum facism but in general it helps to keep the forum "cleaner" and stops you being labelled a "post whore". Kids today huh? :)
Give me a break here, do you want me to share designs and pictures or are you only concerned with a few typos.
please, PLEASE don't stop sharing your designs, they add a high-tech professional touch to the quality of work on the site that most of us can only dream of.

edit:
so don't try to get a huge post count that way.
I think that in this particular situation it's clear that the multiple posts are a result of forum ineptitude rather than fred trying to rack up a huge post count.

"Please edit your posts instead of double posting, edit button is in the top right hand corner of your post, there is no excuse for double posting within minutes of your last in the same thread. "

Your first reply to me. I do not want to keep this up, so lets make this the end. This you said I said never works. Maybe when I learn this program a little better I can avoid some mistakes.
Now on to guns pictures and new designs.

Merged:

Thanks Jack polite and helpful as usual.

Did my two PM's not get across to you? You can edit your posts, like I said top right corner of the post you want to edit, is the edit button.

That was a PM made awhile a go, where you had made a few posts on the forums, I send about 100 a month, I don't remember them all and I don't remember you replying.
You kicked up a fuss about my recent PM which is displayed in my post, not my very first one which is not related to this at all.

JSR - I didn't complain about typo's, that's not what we are discussing here.

Guys lets keep this on topic, fred I would say i'm sorry for going off-topic, but you brought it on yourself.

Trying to be helpful but you didn't have to double post to tell me that ;) MrCrowley is only trying to do his job as a forum moderator, it's nothing personal.

Image - it's easy if you try.

My 4 year old looked at a picture of your gun Fred, He said " Cool gun Dad, do you have that gun?"
I said " No Tim, that's Fred's gun"

You are truly welcome on this site Fred, says me.

I have some original drawings if I can find them again. I could take the gun apart and take pictures. It basically uses a sliding ram that moves forward and hits a valve, than pushes back to start the cycle again. I tried to make it simple so it could be manufactured.

Very nice work. Did you use any parts from any other airguns, or was the whole thing machined from scratch?

Everything is hand made other than the valve and regulator.
