This is a Mini Hybrid that i made today, it is not operational yet although it has been used as a burst disc combustion and burst disc pneumatic.
The reason i have not used it as a hybrid yet is that it has a leak.
I pressurised the chamber and submersed it in water, i found three leaks, fixed them and repeated the process. Still i found a leak- with no bubbles.
That's right, the gauge drops however no bubbles :? I think i know what is up though, the air is leaking past the miniscule gap in my igniton cable, in between the copper and the casing.

Anyway check it out, it's capacity is 47mls and the barrel is 107ml.
The screw in the chamber represents a schrader valve, i broke mine and didn't have a handy replacment.

Now for some damage pics, these were all at a 4x mix.
I also shot a nail through a 20cent coin today, plus the 20mm ply backing.

Needless to say at higher mixes this little beauty has a lot of potential.

I have operated this "Hand-held" Hybrid at 8x mixes.

That looks great!Hope it has performance to match,maybe you just have a faulty gauge?

What do you plan to shoot from this?Will we be expecting supersonic?I sure hope so :wink: .Ideas on what mix it will be used at,I'm going to follow this guns path a lot.

Nice lathe work,nice and neat.Always thing about saving up and getting a lathe but it would no doubt only get used only so often so not really paying for it's self in use.

It's been done a few times with hybrids even with an atmo combustion.And nearly broken with pneumatics.

I have a lot of "Pimpin ammo" laying around so that was my ammo plan.
12mm bb's fit nice if you wrap them in a cigarette paper.
I don't think it is a fualty gauge, rather a faulty builder!

It won't be the most easy gun to play with- a mere 1.75cc of butane for fuel load is a bitch to measure :)

Measure 1.75cc easily with a syringe.

Hey nova! You can easily fix the leak in the wire by injecting superglue into the end of it where the bare copper is exposed. Also, it helps if you don't use such a huge wire. A thin wire with thick insulation (like the hv wire on a flyback) is best for an ignition circuit.

Anyway, this is a really well-made gun. I hope you get it working soon.

Ooooooohh...It's shiny!

Very nice and clean. I don't think I have seen very many hybrids that small. Usually there is a monstrosity of piping and pressure gauges and such around the chamber.
