Getting a higher ranking on spudfiles?
why do you even care about your rank. as long as your helping everybody out and coming up with new ideas. youll get just as much respect as if you have a bunch of meaningless stars.

Mr.C: That's not as easy as you think. It's like me kicking you in the balls and telling you to stop crying.

or a automatic upgrade in rank ,helping the fourm, and a warm fuzzy, feeling inside comes with donating.
they're happy with whatever amount your comfortable with .
It doesn't help you with spudbuks though
I guess a sig would be nice though, if it wasnt for all the time and work to come up with something funny, thought provoking, timely or at least that would make people think

Put it this way, benstern is a veteran of a few years of spudgun forums, he's gone through a lot of crap.
New members are replacements, veterans always hate replacements because replacements haven't gone through the same stuff as they have and just don't get it.
He may be a bit on the hostile side but that's not all he is.

Any crap Ben has gone through he brought on himself...
He isn't right in the head, it doesn't have to do with his rank, he is just.... off.

I coudn't tell you what my rank is without looking, and I couldn't tell you what anyone elses is without looking either. I don't pay them any mind, just names. If I don't recognize the name, I look at the post count to see if they know what they're talking about. Ranks aren't a big deal.

Ah, but are any of us right in the head?
And in a forum like this, a lot of the point of it is to have "replacements". If the forum were just for "veterans", things would be pretty stagnant around the place.

Yea, the vet's all play by the rules. If we didn't have noobs, we'd never get to flame and make fun of people.Ragnarok wrote:Ah, but are any of us right in the head?

JK
Noobs bring in ideas, vets help refine them if they're worth anything, it's a good system.
PS: Sanity is so subjective. One man's best friend is another man's prescrition for schizo meds...

Ahhh... Benny's OK. A little bit of a perv at times, (*cough cough non-stick cooking spray cough cough check cough Theopia cough*), but pretty knowledgeable.
@Wangpushups: rank doesn't mean jack in this life, man... What are you, like, better, if you've got, you know, more stars... what're ya, a lifer??? *Drags on joint*

@Paaiyan: One of my best friends is on the schizo meds anyway.
And they seem to have no effect...
Very weird guy, probably also a vampire. Seems to be a magnet for odd behaviour. Me, him and a couple of others were trying to "rescue" someone else else from an English lesson (we were on a free period) by using ivy, and subtle psychological warfare directed at the class teacher.
That day ended with a small group of people "sneaking" across a car park under a pile of ivy giggling. I guess people must have thought we were stoned or something. Fortunately, people just know we were abnormal.
The classes we were meant to be in were even worse - concentrated steam jets, people getting shot, things getting set on fire, high voltage experiments in the back of maths classes...
The worrying thing was, this was last year, and we were all supposed to be mature adults.
... and oddly enough, I wrote the part about being stoned before markfh11q's post.
@MrCrowley: Ok, May I deliver the message tied to an ICBM?
@markfh11q: I think I could have done without that information... but it was worryingly funny.

Just a few quick facts (most of which have been already mentioned, just giving the "official" word here).
-Ranking is indeed based on post count. Spudbux has nothing to do with your rank, all SpudBux are for is to buy a signature ability and a custom title. SpudBux may not even stay around forever...

-Moderators get their own special rank, and so do donating members. Donating moderators even have a special rank. I also have my own rank.
-All ranks follow standard US Military rankings (for the most part). The higher the rank you have, the harder it becomes to get to the next one.
-Rank gives you no special powers, it is just for showing off.

Yes, I am the guy that owns & operates SpudFiles (along with our extremely helpful moderators).
