well i don't see how that works... a paintball barrel would be ideal because of it's accuracy he would then have the option of adding a BT apex tip to give awesome range which is what a sniper needs.[/youtube]ShowNoMercy wrote:Were is the logic with that? I am agreeing with ALIHISGREAT on the paintball barrel. If you can, use it. Otherwise, I would suggest 1/2" SDR. It is a very close fit to paintballs, which is a very big key in accuracy for paintball.
What is the refill rate of your chamber / regulator? The reason I ask is because I don't see you reaching your goal of more than 20bps and maintaining consistency with a 10" x 1.5" pipe. That is going to have to be one helluva regulator to fill this chamber that fast.

you can modify the qev so that it does not have to be filled and fired from the same port, this way you can run a constant airsource to the gun and not have to turn air off to fire. the paintball barrel is a good idea, i would foget about the apex though. it will give you better range but accuracy suffers alot.

And that means he can eliminate the expansion chamber. This also means that the ball is going to receive only the air in the regulator, which isn't going to be too much. I've never used a qev but are they rated for high pressures (which is going to be needed to get the velocity)?grumpy wrote:you can modify the qev so that it does not have to be filled and fired from the same port, this way you can run a constant airsource to the gun and not have to turn air off to fire.
I think my favourite Chuck Norris fact has to be a toss up between "When Chuck Norris falls in water, Chuck Norris doesn't get wet. Water gets Chuck Norris." and "Chuck Norris invented black. In fact, he invented the entire colour spectrum. Except pink - Tom Cruise invented pink."jackssmirkingrevenge wrote:On that note vageuly related note, Chuck Norris can burn ants with a magnifying glass - AT NIGHT!
Actually, the thing is, if Chuck Norris were told my name, he probably would say that - because I do genuinely share my name with a film director. And I know you will have heard of him - quotes from his films have even been used on this forum.
Now... who would win in a fight between Chuck Norris and The Stig?
@Hailfire753: Dragging it back towards where it should be, 20 BPS is optimistic. I think that's going to be hard to manage reliably without a lot of chopped balls, not to mention difficulties with gas flow.
If you lower your expectations there a bit, you're more likely to end up with a launcher you're completely happy with.
Does that thing kinda look like a big cat to you?

he would only need a very small amount of air at 300psi to obtain legal paintball velocitys.grumpy wrote:you would still need a pressure chamber of some type , and i know there are members on here that run qev's to around 300psi wich should be plenty for an application such as this.
I agree that he would only need a small amount of air in a chamber to obtain legal paintball velocities. My concern was, however, was what Ragnorok spoke of: 20 or more bps from this is a bit optimistic. I am quite sure it is possible, but unless the chamber fills to the correct pressure after each round is fired, each round will be progressively slower than the previous if it is shooting that fast due to the recharge rate.

My favourite by far is "Chuck Norris doesn't go hunting. Hunting implies the possibility of failiure. Chuck Norris goes killing."Ragnarok wrote:I think my favourite Chuck Norris fact has to be a toss up between "When Chuck Norris falls in water, Chuck Norris doesn't get wet. yeah 20bps is very unrealistic and i don't see why a sniper would need that but he should be able to get pretty quick fill rates if he uses a high flow regulator... and one more suggestion, you should ditchthe homemade reg because it would be a real hassle to tune and use a high flow reg (not necesarly a paintball one) on you bottle which i assume will be on your back?hubb017 wrote:I agree that he would only need a small amount of air in a chamber to obtain legal paintball velocities. nice one hubb
I think talking about Chuck Norris on a forum, no matter how irrelevant, at any juncture is actually not considered to be off-topic

Is that a Chuck Norris fact? I quite like that one too.jackssmirkingrevenge wrote:I think talking about Chuck Norris on a forum, no matter how irrelevant, at any juncture is actually not considered to be off-topic
But one of my favourite things is what happens when "Will it Blend?" and Chuck Norris meet:

with a smaller chamber and higher pressure he would have a faster recharge rate, also a volume chamber might help with any shootdown. i would sugest a palmers reg and crossfire 68/45 hpa tank both have excellent flow rates, i think i read somewhere in this thread that he wanted it to shoot 20bps for cheating purposes, paintball is a fun game and cheaters take that fun away and when someone takes my fun away i get grumpy,
