I am going to be shot for saying this- have you tried cutting a spud?
Frozen spuds make uber ammo. Other than that the only thing i found was fluoresent light bulbs, i would not recommend them though.
Other options include big bb's or marbles with wadding.

How much wadding are we talking about here, the entire sports section of the paper?

HaHa, you are aware that bb's come in different sizes right, as well as marbles, we like to call the larger marbles "Bonkers" because they smash their way through the smaller ones.
Anyway i don't see any suggestions from you MrPaaiyan ! :D

I wasn't aware they made bb's in 1/5". Frozen taters, golf balls, small spice containers filled with sand.

Marbles (buckshot), Ping-Pong balls filled with dirt, and clay balls

these would definetly make some narley ammo

spuds make good ammo, but they should be cut, then frozen for maximum carnage

wad it with about 2 pages crumpled up, put about 15 regular marbles in and then 1 crumpled sheet on top. I used to do this with my old combustion and it was deadly

lol "bonkers"? we called them grand father marbles ie giant ones :)

edit: with the freezing they expand slightly and you may need a chisel to shave them down to a tight fit. Also little lemons work wonders.

Make an Ice bullet. Just fill a section of cut 1.5" PVC full of water then freeze it. Perfect shape and no wadding required!

For my 1.5" barrel, I use squash balls, absolutely perfect-and they can be shot in a residential area
**Golfballs don't fit inside my 1.5" schedule 40 pvc pipe-dunno what you guys have, possibly SDR21**
