light bulb round

i was just wondering if someone has don this but why not take a laser pointer case(fits perfectly in 1/2 pvc) take out the stuff, then get one of those little light bulbs and a AAA battery and some wire and put it together? tape the wire to on end of the battery. tape the othe end to the bulb. when the bottom of the bulb touches the battery it would light up. put the bat/bulb asembly into the case. plug one ent that will be the front. the bulb in the back as not the get damaged. screw the bulb all the way in so it makes contact with the bat. and lights up. when you shoot you should be able to see it go very far. the laser pointer case is optional. would this work and has some one done it?

It's been done before, and as to the bulb landing undamaged, not as easy as it sounds.

Why not just use a small flat battery in combination with one or more LED's
Duct-tape it all together, fit it in a sabot or spud, and load it into the gun!

I just watched a Garth Brooks video and he used one filled with confetti and streamers and shot it above the audience. They were great tracer rounds.

Glowing rounds aren't as easy to find in the dark as you might think, if it drops behind a rock or under a bunch of leaves it's stuffed.

Putting a ribbon streamer behind your projectile is much nicer, easier to follow and you can do it in the sunshine

i have done something similar to this but insted i used florescent LEDs (about 6) wired of a 9v stuck into a spud!

What if you attached fishing line to your ammo whilst the fishing rod and reel was next to, flip the catch fire and reel the big 1 in lol

That a good idea. what about gettign a very long spool and light up the entire spool with a laser? then you get a glowing red wire that atached to the ammo. Some fishing lines act like fibre optic wires.

my dad once bought a bunch of cheap chinease made lighters with an in built LED flashlight.... the whole LED & battery thing can be easily removed and I used them succesfully as tracer rounds..... I just wrapped the whole thing in transparent tape several times to make it is more durable and.... it works fine - the round can be reused

the only problem is that they can get lost easilly in vegetation when fired for max range.If the round flies too far away at night you can't really see where it lands and after it is on the ground the grass, bushes and other stuff can block the light and make retriving them difficult becasue ) so if any of you is going to try building a reusable tracer round you better fire them where there is no or little vegetation

I'll try to make a picture of this thing tommorow so that you could see how simple it is...

I think that the round attached to fishing line with enough for like half a mile or something. I do like the hit the fishing line with a laser light and get a red line all the way to your ammo.

There are ways to hack the flash unit from a disposable camera so that the flash fires repetitively. No chance of loosing something in the shrubbery that flashes as brightly as a photoflash.

I wonder if the flash circuit will survive a couple hundred gs?
