What hot sparks? And actually, I think you mean ~5000 volts (WAG of what the trigger voltage is in a photoflash).Carlman wrote:yes but shrubbery plus continuous hot sparks could end badly... talking about 300v here
Remember, these things are powered by a single AA battery. Lots of voltage, not much current. If it is hacked to fire at a "high rate" (~once per second) you won't even be getting all that much voltage in the main cap since it takes several seconds to fully charge the cap.
You would have one hell of a hard time igniting a shrubbery with the output of a flash unit.
Where is Dennis when you need him. Some who designs and installs shrubberies would be a good person to ask about this.

ya thats the thing i was wonder about the G forces on the amo at initial accelaration. will it survive or not. i didn't know fishing line was like fiberoptic cable, thats something i gota try but will it wok with only a laser( mine broke)?
some fishing lines comes clear, if you shine a very bright light at one end, to some extent you should see some light at the other end. And because fishing line was not intended to transmit light, its not total clear, and some of the light is lost along the way so the line would glow.
Normally fiber optics would not lose any light between entry and exit, so the wires do not glow at all.

My interest on spud guns began when I couldn't legally buy guns.
Now its because my guns are too loud to legally shoot.
Its not like it was legal to being with, but they don't offer subsonic 7.62x39 or 7.62x54R. They only have subsonic .22 long. Thats no fun stuff doesn't explode.

One cool thing you can do with light bulb rounds is long exposure night shots.

ok as I promised some pics of my tracer ammo.... better late than never
As I said before to build this all you have to do is to remove the LED&batteries thing from a lighter and wrap it in transparent tape.... sorry there are no vids or pics of this being shot - my camera is not sensitive enough to do this..... it is pity becasue this thing looks great when fired a night
this round was made to be as light as possible to limmit its range (so that I won't loose it ) normally I add a heavy bolt and several nuts to increase the density and range
If you can find lighters with inbuilt LED flashlights buy them - they are ussualy cheap and you can still use them after removing the LED thing.... besides the LED thing is also reusable
