Well I've had my hard drive on my laptop crap out on me, so apologies if I am a bit unresponsive in the next few days. I should hopefully be back up and running by Thursday.

I just had a look over all the videos and just realized that I stand absolutly no chance with the vid quality I have but it was fun to make it was kind of a special occasion so my dad let me pump it to 120psi at my house(lots of neighbors)and use "dangerous" ammo.Made a nice big noise
and caused my dad to get angry because it went through the peice of wood I was fireing at through the plywood backstop and made a nice big dent in my garage
Ill be curious to who wins my vote goes between DYI and mtronic
It was a good competition.

Well my air compressor died on me, so I couldn't make any new videos of me shooting stuff. Instead I just grabbed an old video clip and fooled with it a little for like an hour.

So heres my contest entry. Its FEAR shooting 2 golfballs at a drum, kind of and old clip but the video is alright I guess, not really sure since it's like 4 am over here.

As much as i love your very well constructed cannon and video i am still somewhat doubting your claim of 11000ftlbs, there is something that just aint right- evbec maybe.? :?

@Nova: You reckon a hybrid cannon with a 50 ft barrel couldn't do that? It sounds a reasonable figure to me.

Killjoy, I hope you know that BLB f*cked something up when he was making EVBEC, and it resulted in the joules being correct, but the ft/lbs being more than the joules by the amount that they should have been less by. Hope that makes it clear as mud.

The velocity figures shouldn't be too far off, but considering that the original figures were with a 3/4" barrel, it may be a good idea to chrony FEAR, just to be sure.

Great video though.

I have no trouble believing energy like that from FEAR, considering that the SCTBDC can do 1/5 of that energy with the same projectile, and only has ~1/4 the barrel length, using roughly equivalent pressure but cool gases.

I believe he did. I may be wrong, but I thought the figures were chronograph confirmed.

If the GBs are doing 1900 fps... *calculation* ...they are 5560 ft-lbs each, so there are no EVBEC errors in there - it is a total of around 11,000 ft-lbs.

As for conversions, I use - for a good calculation, a ft-lb is 1.356 joules.
For a mental estimate, add a third from ft-lbs to Joules, take off a quarter in the other direction.
Does that thing kinda look like a big cat to you?
