Interesting, looks very familiar though ;) props if you actually build it. You might want to consider using a cheap air-powered tool as your pneumatic motor as DR proposed and save yourself some hassle.

LOL holy crap that does look familiar. Did he ever get around to building it? It's funny because my design was made from scratch. I figured that such a device, other than the ones that cost an arm and a leg, didn't exist due to it's unnecessary complexity. A difference, though, is that mine uses a vortex block rather than a cloud. Mine also won't jam like his will be prone to doing. Another difference is that his relies off of a continuous air flow while mine will be designed to resonate with a pulsed air stream.

Well, the idea of a pneumatic gatling gun goes back to over a century ago, and the thought of coupling a basic cloud or vortex chamber with revolving barrels was proposed on spudtech several times, so nothing new really in terms of concept. As far as I know however, no one (on this forum at least) has actually made one, so the challenge is still open ;)

Oh. I have the majority of parts. It's being built hell or high water. :laughing3:

It appears the only asthetic difference between this and the gun it's modeled after is that it will have 5 barrels rather than six. At 10ft long the barrels would be unusually short when cut into 6 sections so I went with five. But after assembled and painted it should look like this.

None that the rotating barrels have been firing the BBs, but there has been a pretty good replica made.

Quick question: Is there a good type of high-pressure tubing that we can use to get the air from the compressor tanks to the gun itself? (Web-link would be fine) It needs to kind of flexible so that its not in the way of the handle but I haven't had any luck finding any. Also, anyone know of any good brand names for grease? We need something for the assembly that spins the barrel so it should be fairly thick stuff. Any ideas would be great.

btw: wat are spudbux for?

Spudbux can buy you fake cannons! yay. The ONly practical thing for spudbux is a signature, and a custom title. The signature goes for 300 spudbux, and the custom title goes for 1200 spudbux.

High pressure tubing is usually like an inner layer of rubber hose, followed by and outer layer of netting reinforced rubber. This type is usually rated for 250 psi. not terribly flexible. I don't know anything about metal netting hose, like the kind you find in a toilet. I imagine they could hold high pressure, but might not be terribly flexible either.

Wow  . I searched the forum, before I started, to find something like this and I had no luck. Oh well. Now I have to beat that too. I'm hellbent on making my gun the coolest airsoft strafer on the site. I don't imagine choam8 still uses this forum. Does anyone know how his barrel carousel is attached to the chamber? My design is going to cause a lot of friction the way it is right now and need a new setup. If anyone knows how choam8 set his up or if someone could give me recommendations on how to redesign the attachment it would be much appreciated.

For high pressure tubing, I prefer PVC hydraulic hose. Rugged, flexible, fireproof, available in all conceivable sizes, and rated for 5800 psi. (although at $6/foot for the 1/4" stuff, and a lot more for the bigger sizes, it ain't exactly cheap)

That sounds like you're asking for trouble, because we here like a challenge.
...perhaps I'll just nudge my hybrid airsoft minigun design up my build list a few places.
Does that thing kinda look like a big cat to you?
