Hmm, that design relies on both springs to operate, doesn't it? It wouldn't work without some flexibility between the barrel plug and the piston. And the simultaneous adjustment of those spring strengths would determine firing pressure.
I say, Jack, I think it's topologically identical to one of your proposed designs, isn't it?
