Last night i was shooting some TBs at my house, and i got really anoyed when you cant see where the TB went or where it landed well i made a simple recovery system thats easy to make.

Its basically a steamer made from 1 m or pink cotton string  tied at the end white tissue paper.

I made a 5mm hole with a drill threaded the string in the ball the added some mass like dirt or some dog biscuits what ever works and

compacted it so that the string would keep there and add weight so that the projectile would go thurther too and add some strenth to the ball.

So is it a good idea or not

If it works for you it is a very good idea, otherwise it is just another crackpot recovery system. Why doesn't the string burn?

You should have tied a bunjie strap to the ball. That way, it would return to you and pop you in the head.

No, really. This is pretty good. I think it has been mentioned before, but I'm not certain. Just don't make the streamers too big, or it will create drag and slow the projectile down.

True but i did a test by throwing a normal ball then throwing the one with the streamer suprisingly the one that had the streamer went further .

Nova what i did i pointed the streamer facing away from the combustion chamber so that it wont burn,

i also folded it and wrapped it like modle rocket parachute so its compact and it will deploy really quickly and the drag from it will turn the ball so that the streamer is haging downwards from the ball.

Im going to test at dawn for visibility by shooting it vertically :)

Awesome, that is also a great way to have your balls come back to you. I like hubb's idea a whole lot though. One addition to hubb's idea is to tie the other end of the bungee to your belt buckle. That way it comes back to with in arms reach ;) Ha Ha.

One question about the 1m of pink cotton string, how thick is it diameter wise? Do you think that any other color would make for better visibility?
Yea, that's definitely going to get you at least a tazer.

From the title I figured this thread was about getting better after a fight with Tubercolosis....

Mabey bright yellow or orange will be a good colour but the cotton dose stretch and becomes less thick like it went from 3mm to 1mm so its thin once you strecth it out.

Whohad the idea of a rubber band recovery  ha ha i would propbably drop the cannon and stand back in case the ball comes back and hits you.
