Cool gun. Could you take video where you are shooting a can with only one 1.5liter bottle? Thanks!

and i reckon to decrease the weight of the barrel not sure if it'll work, you should cut the barrel moving back wards shorter, connect a 10mm (8mm diameter inside) barrel by putting it inline with the moving 8mm barrel (6mm diameter inside), so the 8mm barrel is moving back and forth and the 10mm barrel is stationary....

although i have no idea if that'll affect the accuracy, but i reckon it might increase the rate of fire... well just an idea XS
I think you get it now. Yeah it may be less efficient but thats obvious. Its not like the autopiston is any more efficient as it looses air via the popoff valve. Decreasing the weight of the barrel (moving parts) would increase the rate of fire. I am not really sure if I want that. You sound very interested> you should check my other vids on youtube, the ones called automatic 1-4[/youtube]

Nice job on the concept and design. Great idea. How long did it take to construct?

Yeah I am very interested in this gun, aligning it will be such a doodle in the face, and if i made one instead of using a block of wood, i'd probably line up a few T that grip on the barrel trigger, then connected it with an elbow on the auto-cock part, I think it'll make the trigger less chunky,

also from where you live can you buy "model" plastic guns, cause i dun think u'll be able to sandwich that, I was going to put ur semi-auto bb gun in a 1:3 ratio mp5 navy, or something like that.
It's Nerf or Nothing.

Don't start crying when I play this as my hobby, Paintball, Airsoft and Nerf are equally good hobbies, except you can play Nerf in public. Good day! Hmph!

Yeah k, the wood was the lightest matterial I could find. The best option is to glue it togethor, as I still needed to do some tuning I didnt end up doing this. In holland they dont sell airsoft guns, they are illegal. Thats why my airguns never look that realistic'', I am striving more for a piantball look. Workability above looks.

Thnx. Its not finished yet. But what I have here on the pics and vid took me about 3 hours to build. The problem now is that my soldering burner'' is out of gas, so it will take some time until I improve what I have here.

Hey again ant,

yeah thats true, but i don't mean airsoft guns, i mean like "plastic model guns" u can buy from junk stores (not sure if u can in holland but u can in Australia, not to scale tho). I'm to unco to cut a sandwich wood for my gun tho :( and i dun got a soldering burner, i could use a soldering iron, that uses electricity XD

and where do you get ur airsoft bbs from? because usually if airsoft guns are illegal, airsoft bbs usually are too,

or you mean when you make an air gun, it can't look like the real thing cause it's illegal?

do you ever play skirmish with your guns?

Awesome a monumental achievement

I think I know how it works but I still would like a diagram because I'm not sure and would like to do something similar, you'll have to make one eventually

NIce job! I already made this flash animation of the system yesterday, with loading port and all. I dont get why your bottom valve overlaps the pipe though. In my animation you can see that the bottom tube is close and the top barrel is hollow>plz check the main page for that.

Very nice..
I'm not sure if this could be used at higher pressures though..

I like this project allot, I think it wouldn't work with high pressure because it moves to fast and it will jam. Amazing what people can do with just some hardware pipes and fittings :D . I'm definitely going to build a gun like this but then with a trigger that makes it semi-automatic, because I haven't much BB's left :D

I think the concept would work at higher pressures, you'd just have to adjust the piston diameter, spring tension and valve size

THnx. The pressure on the system doesnt have to do anything with the cycle rate. As the pressure increases the force per area on the valve is also bigger, so it will open for a shorter time. If I were you I would make a airgun that can shoot efficiently. Atm I am using interactive physics to make a simulation of the optimal sizes, masses, spring tensions etc. Its more like a trade, as there are so many variables to change.

Most stock paintball markers opperate under high pressure. >>20.4-136atm of pressure. I am not saying mine is the same as a paintball gun. I am planning to buy a tippmann 98 so I can experiment and learn from it. The major problem with low pressure (blowback) guns is that when the pressure is too low you get this: (0:30sec)

Yeah> getting the optimum setup. As though lower pressures are more risky''

Yeah the one that I made several years ago. Hey Ajdevi you should check my other vids. The one with the blocked barrel has 4 vids with explanation of the loading system> might be interesting for you:)
