the thing i don't like about the gasolene is the residue it left inside your chamber from all of the unburnt hydrocarbons.

when I first got into spud cannons, i used diethyll ether in my friends gun, but we only shot a sock out of it.
but that was when we didnt know anything about potato cannons

so now we stick with Brut deoderant

ok this is rcman50166 on another profile but im to lazy to log in. The unburnt hydrocarbons are from another fuel that i've used unsuccessfully: Goof Off. I wouldn't recommend it for obvious reasons

i had to comment on the 3" barrel. i have not seen anyone talk about baseballs for ammo in a 3 incher but im sure alot of folks use them here. i used to shoot them out of a 3" 4ft long bazooka combustion and they would sail way out there using hairspray. had to use a couple layers of patch ( t-shirt material). btw have you noticed any damage to the pvc where the gas makes contact? i have seen gas used on a metal gun before.

Well I could try it but it seems like it's almost guarenteed to get lost and baseballs aren't cheap to use for ammo. And for the gas question. No. There is a bonus (depending how you see it) of using gas. The leftover carbon makes a nice coat on the inside of the chamber. So any damage it would be doing would be to the carbon. However, carbon is conducitve and will eventually short out the ignition system. So, as a result, I water shoot it evey now and then, just to clean it out.
