5.5" pipe, pressure testing, machined parts (well that was the cheap end) all parts galvanized and money spend on getting it the best way i can.hubb017 wrote:How the hell do you spend $1200 on a hybrid? I can see spending $30 on a cheap combustion, but that is a lot of money on a hybrid. Did you build the thing out of platinum laced with diamonds or something?
big propane tank. hydrauc fittings, 2" union and all that stuff.
also take this: i live in Norway and it is sooooo expensive for parts here.
BTW a 2" thickwalled steel pipe 15feet long

Heck, the Pipe Dream will probably cost on the order of $25,000 and I'm using a lot of scavenged materials. If I started from stratch I've no doubt it would be over $100,000.hubb017 wrote:How the hell do you spend $1200 on a hybrid?
It's easy to spend money if you're at all interested in scale, precision, and safety margins.

d_hall i try the best i can on all of those areas.
the tricky part for me is getting big enough pipe with the right rating.
how hig mixes will the pipe dream consume?

At most? I kinda like my arteries the way they are.At most you could have your finger half taken off, or a artery cut open.

It's being nominally designed around a simple 2X. However, one never gets full theoretical pressure so I'll be adjusting the mix until I get about 205 psi, *measured*... If that's 2X or 2.5X or 3X... so be it.spudfarm wrote:how hig mixes will the pipe dream consume?
